Westinghouse Pearl 105 cm/ 42-inches Ceiling Fans, Stainless Steel-Light Maple/White

This bad boy saved our over-heated lives. It runs virtually the entire day when we're at home and sends a lovely cool breeze during the rather brief hot spells we get in this frigid country. It can also be used to heat the room in the winter as it has a button you switch to circulate the heat around. We bought the remote control separately also on Amazon. One thing to know is that if you want to use the remote with the fan, you should install the remote at the same time as the receiver has to be placed at the base of the fan which means whoever is installing it would have to take the fan apart to install if done at a later date. The fan is very quiet on its low and middle settings and barely cools anything on it's lowest setting. It's does make a little noise and rocks slightly on it's highest setting and cools considerably. Two gripes; it was difficult to figure out what size it was when I was purchasing (they only had it in centimetres which mean a whole lot of converting was going on) it but it looks as though they've fixed this now and; it's really expensive compared to the prices they charge in the States. Had I had a better understanding of its size, I would have bought a larger one. This is the best advice I'd give anyone purchasing one of these fans: buy the biggest one you can afford because when it's really hot, it makes a big difference.

I had a ceiling fan already that I had purchased from Homebase for about the same money. It burnt out after about a year, was always slightly noisy and was definitely a tad wobbly. When I saw this on-line it looked almost identical but when you start fitting it it's a bit like the difference between a Rolex and a cheap knock-off. This is so much better built. I also bought it with the radio remote, which works a treat. You do need to make sure you have everything set to 11 before using the remote otherwise it seems like the fan run really slowly. The remote also allows the lights to "remember" what setting they were on previously or turn on full. NB the dimming is achieved through the remote, not the light switch (assuming you have this replacing a regular light switch). If you have a dimmer switch you'll need to replace it for a regular switch and then use the remote for dimming. As one previous reviewer said, the remote is all plug and play. Very easy and requires no wiring. It all just clips together. Why only 4 stars? I may be being a little harsh but I find the difference between setting 3 and setting 2 on the fan speed to be far to great. Setting 1 hardly disturbs the dust, Setting 2 is a gentle breeze, setting 3 is like standing in front of a DC3. Don't get me wrong, setting 2 is ok but there almost needs to be 4 setting so there is something between nice and "where's my wig gone?". One more thing, you can also fit it with or without the drop link. This means it can be fitted at a slightly less head-slicing altitude and also stays stable even at full turbo-nutter speed. On the whole I'd highly recommend it.

We're pleased with the ceiling fans. They are very quiet and do the job of keeping the conservatory .. However, we are very disappointed with the Westinghouse wall control as our electrician said the wiring was not compatible with the wiring on the fans, so we had to abandon using it. I have therefore not rated this at all.

Lovely Fan with spotlights ,Mom very Delighted with them ,look stunning in our New Decorated bedroom ,Lovely Design and quite fan ,although 3rd speed in very windy so speeds 1 and 2 appear the best ,would have to be very hot summers day for speed 3 ,Well Delighted ,and well done Westinghouse cheers Shaun.

Love it. It is very quiet and I bought the remote control for it. Husband did not find it hard to put up and I love it that the lights dim at the touch of a switch. Will probably always have it on a number 2 setting and it is completely silent, number 3 setting is too windy for me to lay in all night and you just about hear the sound of the wind, not the motor I hasten to add. Very good. My son and his wife have seen it and want one too.

Happy with the light/fan. Also very quiet.

I would recommend this to anyone requiring a fan as it can be fitted at different heights for low or high ceilings is very modern and sleek in its design and runs very smoothly without noise or wobbling just what the doctor ordered

Gave it 4 stars because want to see how long motor lasts,had other makes who,s motors only last about 4 years.

Works very well and looks great. Especially since I spray painted the fan blades red prior to assembling. Plan on taking 2 hours to assemble and buy umbrella hooks to more firmly secure to the ceiling if you have a "techo falso."

Ich bin wirklich super zufrieden mit dem Deckenventilator. Er läuft bei mir überwiegend in Stufe 1 oder 2, was für mich absolut ausreichend ist. Er ist wirklich flüsterleise und kaum zu hören. Überlege, ob ich mir noch einen weiteren Lüfter für mein Schlafzimmer hole. Auch wenn ich einen sehr leichten Schlaf habe, glaube ich nicht, dass er mich sonderlich beim Schlafen stören wird. Der Zusammenbau war auch überhaupt kein Problem. Nur die Schrauben sind nicht genau gekennzeichnet, weshalb ich erst fälschlicherweise die Schrauben der Lüfterblätter (die mit den roten Unterlegscheiben) für den Lüftermotor verwendet hatte. Alles andere ist gut bebildert und beschrieben. Absolute Kaufempfehlung!

Que de belles surprises avec ce modèle : - incroyablement silencieux - très compact - aucune vibration - ventilation parfaite et efficace (pour une pièce de 15M2) - finition parfaite de type inox poli - pales réversibles blanc d'un côté ou acajou clair de l'autre - comme les ampoules ne sont pas encapsulées dans un support (c'est une très bonne chose), elles sont bien ventilées et surtout, on peut changer les ampoules fournies par des ampoules LED qui sont souvent un peu plus larges. - j'ai installé le boitier de commande Westinghouse 7226640 (disponible sur Amazon) qui permet par ondes radio de faire varier l'intensité de l'éclairage (il faut des ampoules LED dimmables/compatibles variateur) et de la ventilation. Au final : LA PERFECTION !

Buen producto. Compramos uno para un dormitorio y repetimos Es silencioso en las 2 primeras velocidades. Permite eormir con él enchufado. El acabado es bueno.

Habe den Ventilator seit Mitte des Jahres im Einsatz und bin sehr zufrieden: Ich betreibe ihn zusammen mit der IR-Fernbedienung von Westinghouse mit drei Stufen. Auf Stufe 1 ist der Ventilator quasi unhörbar und erzeugt trotzdem einen leichten Luftzug - ideal bei Nacht. Bei den Stufe 2 und 3 ist jeweils ein leichtes Rauschen hörbar, was aber vollständig von den Rotorblättern / vom Luftstrom verursacht zu werden scheint; der Motor arbeitet also sehr leise! Dafür ist der Luftstrom bei den höheren Stufen sehr kräftig; persönlich nutze ich meist die unteren beiden Stufen, da diese vollständig ausreichen. Auch der Aufbau geht einigermaßen unkompliziert von der Hand - Aufbauanleitung ist gut verständlich und das Gerät macht insgesamt einen wertigen Eindruck. Zwar ist der Einbau der Fernbedinungseinheit eine ziemliche Fummelei (man sollte hier besser zu zweit sein), aber immerhin reicht es, Anschlussklemmen ineinanderzustecken. Kleines Manko: Die Fassungen für die Lampen machen einen recht billigen Eindruck: Lampen lassen sich nur schwer hineindrehen, da die Kontakte nicht sauber gearbeitet zu sein schein. Außerdem wurde das Gerät bei mir mit regulären Halogenbirnen ausgeliefert - LEDs wären zeitgemäßer. Insgesamt aber eine klare Kaufempfehlung!
