Good, but expensive!
It's a great item. I have the Scoopfree system and just changing the trays are so easy. Really expensive though. I get the 3/packs and they equate to over £20 a tray! - for some cat litter and some cardboard. They know how to take advantage of our need for them!

Expensive but great product
Great product. I had to use it when I went on holiday for 3 weeks and I came back to a still fresh product. These are a bit expensive so I will only buy when I am away for protracted times so I don’t have to ask the neighbours to clean the littler. Very effective nevertheless.

Price has jumped up so much!
Love this product and have been using for the last 5 years. Have had to replace the main body several times, not realising that PetSafe do a 3 year warranty. My bad. BUT and this is a big one in my opinion, the cost has spiralled and has now increased by 50% for the triple pack and over doubled for the singular packs - why? This has now made this a luxury item in the current cost of living crisis and I am having to reconsider using this and looking at other options. If anyone has any great ideas on how to use this and keep the cost down then I am all ears. I have tried the reusable tray and it isn't as efficient and you obviously have to empty and clean it which was one of the most convenient aspects of the replacement trays. PLEASE Petsafe look at the cost of these and how realistic it is for the everyday Joe to be able to afford it!

Easy to use and clean
The fact that you do not have any contact with the cat poo. It’s all cleared away into a little compartment. Needs to be changed fairly regularly as it tends to smell if left too long before replacing tray. Easy to use. General opinion, pleased that I purchased this item.

Purchased exactly 57 times since 2018, time to switch
We’ve purchased these refills exactly 57 times since 2018. They work well enough, although more recently I feel there has been a dip in the quality of the crystals. The biggest disappointment however has been the price, originally a 3 pack used to cost £45, now the price has almost doubled. We have two cats now, so actively looking for an alternative, otherwise we will be using one tray per week forever - sadly the longevity of the products doesn’t go beyond that. As others have highlighted, it doesn’t clump urine very well which is also what annoys me regularly. The tray is fairly easy to remove but requires some manoeuvring, I usually dispose in a biodegradable bag.

Best cat toilet
Cannot imagine life without the automatic toilet that these inserts are for. No more daily scooping and no bad smell. Worth the money

One use litter tray
These are single use trays that are meant to last up to a month or two each. Maybe they work for some, but my personal experience is that when I received the main body electric litter tray (the electronic part), it came with one a bag of the silicone crystals that these trays contain. I decided to initially gradually get my cat used to the new litter and added some to my cats normal. At first it seemed fine but I did notice that as I increased the silicone litter and decreased the original, the smell of cat urine increased. When I did as suggested, and swirled the litter to disperse the urine, it literally made me retch. It takes a lot for me to retch, and I was dismayed that something so expensive would be so ineffective at deodorising the very thing it's designed to do. Urine does NOT evaporate, it remains as a sludge at the bottom of the tray, and as your cat adds to that, the smell increases. This dies NOT last a month, definitely not two. I'd be hesitant to state it lasts a week. With one cat. So, after my experience using the silicone crystals in a bag, I wondered if they were different to what was in these trays. They aren't. It's exact same stuff. The premise of the petsafe scoopfree automatic litter tray is that you don't have to scoop for a prolonged period and the litter is supposedly dehydrating poo and evaporating urine. It does neither of these things, in my experience. With that in mind, these one use trays would last my cat about a week, tops. That is with me retching at the stench of cat urine for 5-6 days. These are extremely expensive for one week. Maybe others find they last longer, maybe their cats dont urinate as much as, my cat, but I find it hard to imagine this lasting longer than a week and be stink free. I cannot recommend these. I'm fact, I bought the reusable plastic tray which is expensive too, but I'd rather swallow that one off price than have to buy these cardboard trays filled with silicone that turns to stinky urine sludge. I'm currently looking at other litter that I can use with this litter tray as I will not be using the silicone litter that they sell for use with it. If you have this automatic scoop free electric litter tray and looking at using these for it, I cannot in good conscience recommend. Hugely expensive for what it is as well.

Very, very convenient!
We have a Forever Litter Tray, but our usual supplier was out of the crystals, so I picked one of these up instead to try it out. It's very good - fits perfectly in to the Scoop Free Ultra Self Cleaning Litter Box, and doesn't require fitting the 2 plastic extension which came withe the Forever tray (I hate cleaning and refitting those). The litter itself is blue tinted as in the photo - our usual litter is blue Just the Crystals, and if there is any difference the cat doesn't seem to mind at all. When installing it you remove the lid and place it underneath the tray, so the tray sits inside the lid. When you remove it, you take the lid back off, place it back on the top and tape it down and bin it. It's a one minute process. The design of this essentially prevents you from ever even seeing the poo - when you remove it from the litter box the flap is down. It's more expensive than the crystals, but i am having an internal debate as to whether the increased cost is worth it, given how much more convenient this is - I am considering sticking with these instead!
