Yes, this is very good polish. A little goes a long way. If you look at other similar polishes, they are all around £10/ bottle

can this be used on mahogany french polished furniture?

Wouldn't like to guarantee as I am no expert but I have used it on all my furniture be it mahogany or pine and it comes up lovely. Leaves a nice smell throughout the house.

Can this be used on varnished wood (stairs and pre varnished doors) and does it leave a high shine? Thanks in advance for any help.

I love this product. I use it on both natural and varnished wood. I find it best if i spray the cloth first then wipe the wood so that no oily residue is left. It leaves a high shine and slightly waterproofs the surface. It might be worth checking the finish on the stairs in case it make them slippery.
