American Lifetime Dementia Clock, Large Digital Clock for Seniors, Alzheimer's (White, 8 inch)

Set up is very simple with the buttons on the back and the fold out stand is satisfactory and quite sturdy. It comes with pre-installed backup batteries which means it won't lose its settings if its disconnected (it won't display anything without mains power though). It’s quite weighty so doesn't slide about much and it feels substantial and well made. The display is bright and clear with no glare and is smooth matte so doesn't reflect overhead lights or sunlight. It’s easy to read at distance and there is no discernible flicker or pixilation. It self-adjusts the brightness of the display depending on the time of day but is still clearly readable. It's designed for persons with a visual impairment but obviously its usefulness to them will depend on the nature of the impairment. It’s also very suitable for anyone who just wants a useful clock / calendar. It’s worth pointing out that the time and date will not auto-set (it has no means of doing this) and it doesn't support Daylight Savings Time which is a shame given that this is a premium item. One other niggle is the manufacturer logo on the front is a bit of an eyesore. Even with these slight negatives, I have no hesitation in recommending this device.

Really impressed with everything. Quick delivery , polite emails from the company it came from and the difference it has made to our lives well worth the price. I was looking for something to help my partner , who has vascular dementia , gain a bit more control over their day to day life. What day is it ,when is an event going to happen etc were questions being asked continuously. The clear face of the clock , showing the day , time of day, time and date is in her line of vision and not only can she see what day it is it has helped with working out what is coming up. Being able to see the time has also made her more active as she just used to sit saying there was plenty of time before she did anything. Now she can see time moving faster than she thought it was. I will set the alarms for medication eventually. I do not think I really appreciated how much her loss of the sense of time etc affected her as she is now far happier being able to see it for herself. I will move it into the bedroom or buy another one when the time comes for dealing with upsets during the night and hope it helps there too.

My 96-year old Mum loves her clock. She has dementia and glaucoma, as well as being a bit deaf. She loves being able to easily see the day, time of day, month and year, although from her chair she can't always make out the actual figures of the date. She almost prefers to watch the clock rather than the television. Her Occupational Therapist had given her the loan of a day clock a couple of months ago. It was the most expensive one on the market - all singing, all dancing, with the capability of setting many different programmable alerts and alarms, photos and videos etc. We thought long and hard about it before concluding that most of the functions would not be helpful to her as she dozes a lot during the day and would either miss the alerts or they could easily confuse her. We haven't set any alarms as there are carers who go in 4-times daily and they prefer to supervise her taking her meds. We have been thinking of purchasing one for her bedroom as in winter she sometimes wakes up in the dark and can't tell if it's day or night. For Mum this clock is invaluable and gives her that little extra piece of independence she strives so hard to keep hold of. We found it easy to set up, packaged well and arrived on time.

We bought this clock to help an aging relative keep track of time. As she has trouble remembering what day it is as well as the date, this clock with its large display of both, together with the time period (morning, afternoon etc) seemed ideal. When it arrived the day after we ordered it (even though we had not specified superfast delivery) it worked right out of the box showing the correct day, date and time with no need for any setting up. This suggests that the internal battery will power the clock's settings for quite a while and certainly longer than a temporary power cut. The only minor downside seems to be that the instructions say clock does not automatically change time for daylight saving, so it will need to be manually reset twice a year. No different to any other clock there so its not a problem. Because we were so impressed by our purchase and the associated customer service, and importantly, as the lady in question likes the clock a lot we have ordered another one for her bedroom as well which is due to be delivered today.

Great clock. Does exactly as expected and looks fabulous on my shelf. Good size too - about the same size as my Ipad Air2. Love the display and interested to see the different settings displayed on the time zones ... like 'Morning, Night, Evening, Predawn (?? saw this at about 3am one morning). Very bright display - not sure if its adjustable as it lights up my lounge - if its not adjustable then I wouldn't recommend for a bedroom. But laziness means I just haven't read the instructions. Would I buy this again? Most definitely - in fact I've recommended it to a few friends. Only negative is the colour - I wish I had bought either the black or the white - not too keen on the wood colour its that fake mahogany brown. But otherwise LOVE IT!

This clock is perfect for my mum who has dementia. As she is disoriented to time (and place) she now needs the date on her clock, so this one is perfect. I initially bough a similar clock to this but without the time and date on it (as my mum could find the date on the newspaper and read the clock) but I would recommend anyone thinking of buying a similar clock to go for one that has EVERYTHING-time, date, time of day. It can easily stand up or hang on wall and its helping my mum already stay independent (not sure for how long...but hey!) Also white on black screen works very well. Also very attentive service, ensuring product arrived promptly and very personal and pleasant with it, have the feeling that if anything went wrong this website would be ever so helpful. I bought this for my parents who were initially very happy with it. However, they had a power cut and it did not as advertised, go back to the set display. We had it set for the time, day and date, but after the power cut, it was set at the day only display. We discovered that it was impossible to work out how to reset it. My parents had lost the instructions (they both have memory problems, hence the reason for the clock) When I came to try to send it back it has proved impossible to work out how to do this. It wasn't cheap and I am not happy at all. I sent a message 3 days ago to the seller and have not received a reply. If you do read your reviews then please just tell me how to send it back to you and receive a refund.

Bought this as one of Mum's Christmas presents. She has dementia but still lives on her own in an assisted living complex. I bought this for her bedroom as she often wakes in the night and I thought it would be easy to read and reassuring for her. The fact that it had no 'inappropriate wording' on the packaging was a bonus, but I was not sure if Mum would accept it. RESULT!! Set it up and she loved it ... so much so that she said it was a bit of a waste being in her bedroom and she was considering moving it to her lounge (with the proviso that her existing much loved clock was still on display). I have therefore bought another and will be installing it on my next visit. The display is very clear, and the time, day of the week, date and time of day are all usefully available at a glance. Currently we have had no need to set the multiple alarms, but they are there should the need arise.

We purchased this clock for my 96 year old mother-in-law. She was beginning to get confused about what day it was, and whether it was AM or PM. We wanted to get her a clock that she could easily read day or night, and would clearly spell out the time, date, and weekday. The clock did this wonderfully, as well as also indicting (spelling out) "afternoon", or "morning", "before dawn", etc. Unfortunately she passed away, only having the clock for a short time, so we ended up getting the clock back. I had, in the past, looked for a digital clock to be used in our family room, next to the TV. I wanted something that looked half decent, and was easy to read in the light as well as in the dark. We never found one we really liked, as the ones we tried were too bright, or didn't have a light, and always looked like old computer screen lettering. To we tried the Day Clock. It was great. First of all, it looks PERFECT. It's almost hard to believe that the clock screen contents change. It looks like its been painted professionally onto the screen. Secondly, it lights up, and is easy to read, and at night it dims so that it's still easy to read the clock, without distracting from the TV. It's also easy to adjust. The settings are both simple, and intuitive. My wife (who rarely tries to change electronic clock times) easily changed the time, for Daylight Savings Time. This highlights the only thing that I can think of to perhaps make this clock better - a Daylight Savings Time change button. Another nicety, is that it still keeps the time accurately, and when the power goes off, it will continue at the correct time when power is restored. So, as you may have gathered, we are very happy with this clock, and highly recommend it - for seniors, and for the rest of us.

Des problèmes toutefois à la livraison par relais colis mais c'était en fin d'année donc coup de bourre et il y a eu un bug dans le logiciel. Produit finalement reçu mais avec 1 bonne semaine de retard.
