Probably DON'T need this for Android. There are several free apps that do this for the Android platform using the built in WiFi modem. This device IS required for IOS platforms as Apple does not permit direct access to its WiFi modem.

If you're unlucky enough to install VOIP on 2.4 GHz, you should also use the cursors menu (default is set to horizontal, independent, base). Pull the menu bar away and it will calculate the SNR (signal-to-noise) ratio. The blue number on the right is the SNR; it's the difference between the two lines (one is a solid line and one is a dotted line). Be sure to set one line at the noise floor and the other one at the peak of your AP. Make sure the SNR is at least 25dBm (or greater). For time sensitive things like VOIP or even video, you'll want to make sure you have enough signal strength to get the job done right the first time.

Does this also pickup non-wifi devices in the 2.4ghz range like cordless phones, microwaves, and other interference?

Yes. It picks up all spectral activity, which includes cordless phones, microwave ovens, etc. ZigBee channel mapping is also available.

Has potential, poor execution, NOT for the average user.

This product has a lot of potential but the documentation sucks. For example, documentation on P4 of PDF manual refers to a key feature that's not available on the latest app. REALLY? The rest of it leaves a LOT for you to try to figure out. This suppose to make RF easier to understand - why make features and UI obscure? The application notes in the blog on their web site are way too short and don't really get to the punch line. Some youtube videos showing exactly how to configure the app and use it to solve problems would have been great - nothing worth watching there. Too bad. Considering returning this product. Android based free Wifi Analyzer was MUCH MUCH better...

マニュアルはパッケージに書かれているOSCIUMのサイトで入手できます。(英文ですが) 自宅の無線LANの電波状況が良好であることを視覚的に確認できました。持ち運びしやすいので、外出先でのいろいろな場所での電波状況の確認が出来ます。

This is a MUST BUY!

Wow!! I purchased this as a tool to assist in placing wifi APs in larger networks. Little did I realize how much I can do with it and how useful it is. The first job I took it out on I discovered a rogue SSID but couldn't find the AP. Just a quick walk around the office and I found an AP tucked behind a file cabinet. After setting up a new AP I did another scan and could chose the correct channel by using the area less used. Again I discovered another wireless device that was using the channel I would have normally used. Found a lot of extra traffic and noise as well. I can't imagine setting up any wifi without this tool. And that was the first day!! I have been impressed by their support and company. These boys are STELLAR! I recommend this unit to anyone who has or installs wireless networks.
