The monitor has enough connection ports for the average user, 2 HDMI, 2 USB and 1 USB type C which is great because all you need is one cable to connect your Macbook or Dell XPS laptop giving you picture and charges your laptop at the same time. The USB C port also allows you to daisy chain your USB enabled devices so the LG Monitor then acts as a USB hub. Many have stated it wont charge certain power hungry laptops like the 15" Macbook Pros, I cannot confirm this, but just bear this in mind. Also be aware that the USB type C is not Thunderbolt. The display is excellent, with a resolution of 3840X2160 which is considered 4K but there are a few things I don't love about this monitor. The control panel to control the settings (ie brightness, picture in picture, input selection etc) is literally one button, this is very finicky and takes some getting used to, but for those who would prefer you can download an LG software that lets you control the monitors setting on screen. Pro: excellent display, crisp,clear, and powers the laptop. Plenty of adjustment on the height - no need for an adjustable VESA mount. Con: the rear-mounted USB ports mean that they cannot be used for wireless mouse/keyboard/audio dongles, as the display effectively screens them. The screen will default to be the main audio device even if there is nothing plugged into the headphone socket.
