Works as advertised, as long as…
As long as it’s a Fender apparently. Fixed the too loose, screw-in trem arm on my 2022 MIM Strat. Fell out of the hole in the bottom of the trem block on my 2005 Squire Strat. I need to screw a bolt into the bottom of the Squire or something to stop that. Also, don’t forget to catch the spring when you take the arm out to transport your guitar in a case or bag. That’s probably why they sell them by the dozen though. Cheers!

Works like a charm!
I’m using an off-brand tremolo arm with a Fender Stratocaster bridge, and this spring drops right in & snugs up the tremolo bar perfectly for over a full turn before stopping. It also stays in the bridge - I tried turning over the guitar, shaking & tapping it with my palm - and it doesn’t fall out so that’s pretty nice.

You'll need this if you have a Fender Stratocaster guitar!
If you have a Fender Stratocaster guitar with a tremolo bar, you probably never knew there was a tiny spring inside that shaft where you screw in the tremolo bar. It keeps the tension on the tremolo so it will pretty much stay where you put it when you are not using it.But... when you UNscrew that tremolo bar, you may never have seen or even know that tiny spring has popped out and dropped on the floor! The next time you put the tremolo bar into your Strat, it will flop around and NOT stay where you want it!So... you need this very special spring! And... I think you get SIX of them here for a very cheap price! You can be sloppy at every gig and lose one now and then, and know that you YOU have the spare replacement springs! The other guy in your band will say "Hey! My tremolo bar is loose as a goose and I don't know what to do about it!" And you'l say... "What you need is one of these special steel springs that go inside that shaft hole and it holds your tremolo bar just where you need it!"Then... you say " Yeah, I can fix that for you, but it'l cost you $20!" Heh heh!

Works great on the new Squier Affinity Stratocaster!
Tremelo stays where you want it. Best $10 you can spend!

12 pack of trem arm spings
I misplaced the spring and didn't realize it untll I was playing the other day and it went from super-spinny to dead lock. I like to somewhat flex between the two, where I like it both loose but also will turn it once to get it less 'free' but still moveable. This was loose to 'it's not moving unless I break something'. I guess I hadn't played this guitar in a while, as I hadn't noticed...This solved that problem; easy drop in, spin it back up, feel where it's going to stiffen up a bit and call it good!

Keep a few around for your Strat
A lot of people don't realize that these springs even exist for Fender Stratocasters and other strat style guitars. My main strat is around 12 years old and as best as I can recall it did not come with one of these springs when it was new.Use couldn't be easier, just drop the spring in the hole where the whammy bar screws in and then put in the whammy bar. The bar will stay exactly where you put it at all times. Simple. The only issue is, if you travel with a hard case, some of them require that you remove the bar to transport. It's easy to forget about the spring and find yourself missing the part when you want to put the bar back in. When they fall out, they're just like picks and move off to some parallel universe where you'll never find them.I just buy a pack of these for each strat case, because I will undoubtedly lose one. I also keep a package of these in my maintenance kit.An extra word of caution. I've seen a few Squier Strats where the hole for the whammy bar is drilled completely through the tremolo block and dropping one of these springs in there will just cause it to fall out the bottom and rattle around inside the back of the guitar until it eventually finds one of the string holes on the back plate and disappears.

No more floppy whammy!
If you were searching for a way to keep your whammy bar from flopping around and jamming your leg while playing seated, this is it.Fits multiple Fender-style trem systems. The spring doesn't interfere with the threading on many off-brand versions I've tried, including a cheap Laguna Custom Design with it's "no replacement parts seem to fit right" sizing inconsistencies.Just unscrew the handle, drop the spring down in there, and screw the handle back on. You'll hear a small click or two as the spring settles while tightening, and then adjust to the tension you prefer. The springs seem to always bend a little after installation, but it's only noticeable when you take it back out and doesn't affect the function. If you frequently remove your trem/whammy handle for transportation, you may want to use a metallic sharpie on the spring to make it easier to find when it inevitably gets dropped on the floor.

Do you have a floppy vibrato/tremelo bar?
Unscrew the arm, drop one in, replace the arm. That's it. It gives the appropriate tension to allow placement of the vibrato arm where it will be useful instead of it being all flopsy.

Good quality but do NOT fit my 1998 MIM Strat. Likely work with USM.
You get a bunch and they are real Fender. Didn't work for me. YMMV.

So simple, works brilliantly
The trem on my 20 year old strat had definitely loosened in its thread and had developed too much give/movement in the socket before getting any bridge movement. This very simple idea of dropping a spring in to hold the thread of the arm against the thread of the socket is brilliant. Works really well. And cheap too.
