PetSafe ScoopFree Ultra Self-Cleaning Litter Box, Hygienic, Odour Free For Cats

This has changed our relationship with our housecat for the good as we only have to empty this when full and never have to see or scoop it up each day. You hardly smell it either, only a little when removing the tray. I have modified the use by instead of crystals it came with, using world's best clumping litter and making a raised base for the tray and cut a hole where the waste goes. A receptacle goes below. I used an aluminium rectangular tray. It has been working great for a couple of weeks now. I use 20 minutes delay rather than the shorter times to allow time for it to clump.You couldn't use clumping litter unless you made the waste recess bigger like I did as it would run out of room after a day or two even with one cat as the wee forms a sizeable ball so it's like about 2 poos on top of usual one poo. I don't like crystals as the idea of wee staying underfoot bothers me as do the use of silica. If you already use this fine, but my cats used to clumping and I've heard crystals can be smelly and do not work very well at holding wee. I was happy to modify this and bought it knowing I would. Had I failed I would have given crystals a try I suspect! When it very, there was no UK power tip for the adaptor, so I had to ask the company for this, which came within a few days. Good customer service. This was readily used by my feral cat who normally takes time to get to know things so the design is great and appealing to cats I think it's nice and big and easy to use for them The others I have seen had smaller entrance holes. I put the old cat litter tray next to it so he had a choice and he immediately used the new one and I think he preferred it's design due to the larger access hole. Very glad I bought this. Update: a year on I've decided crystals are better as less fuss and found do far the best ones (other than the ones made by maker of this tray ) are Bob Martin's crystals. The pink bag ones. They last about 3 weeks a bag so not cheap but no fuss other than a stir each few days.

I bought this litter box as we were adopting a cat and my girlfriend and I didn't want the nasty job of scooping the litter box out each day. Normally, I get my packages delivered to an Amazon locker however, this box was way too big to fit inside so I got it delivered to a pick-up location instead. The box was very big and heavy and the handles on the box ripped due to the weight of the contents and the bottom fell out the box. Despite some previous reviews saying that there had been no litter included in the box, there was one tray and bag of silica litter inside which is why it was so heavy. Perhaps the manufacturer can use stronger tape on the box and strengthen the handles to ensure this doesn' happen in future? When I opened the box, the instructions were easy to follow and it took less than a minute to assemble the litter box. The instructions had said to leave the privacy hood off and don't power the device on until the cat is used to the litter tray. I can understand why this is written as my cat was very intrigued when she first saw her waste being swept away and I can imagine that it might put some cats off using the tray if they're easilly scared. The litter tray is really easy to operate. One button to reset the counter, another to change the delay on the rake and a third to begin the raking process manually. I initially had the delay set to 5 minutes as I didn't want any smells hanging around however, I found that small pieces of poo were getting stuck on the rake so I've increased it to 10 minutes to try and dry it out a bit more before raking. The silica crystals are really good at keeping the tray dry, and our house doesn't smell of cat urine, something which I found to be a problem with my last cat and ordinary mineral based litter. There is a smell of poo just after the cat uses the tray, but this quickly disappears after the rake has swept it into the hidden compartment. The manufacturer says that each litter tray will be good for 20-30 days (depending on frequency of use and number of cats), and I've found that I've had to change it after around 3 weeks because the poo compartment was full. Its also useful to stir the litter from side to side every few days to disperse the urine in the crystals. My cat tends to pee in the same place in the litter box and the rake is linear, so the crystals at that side of the tray were becoming saturated. In conclusion, I would definitely recommend this litter tray. It's an expensive piece of kit to buy, but the ongoing maintenance costs (around £45 for three litter trays that last up to a month each) are on-par with normal cat litter, and the fact that I don't have to scoop poop or smell cat urine every day is definitely worth the £100 or so that I paid for this tray. It's also reassuring to know that my cat will always have a clean, odour-free toilet when she goes to use it, even when I'm at work all day.

Il est vrai que ce Bac peut paraître cher au départ, mais je le recommande très vivement ! Il est d'une robustesse exemplaire et d'une aisance d'entretien et de maniement remarquable. Au départ, j'ai trouvé l'emballage et le Bac énormes, mais en fait c'est normal car il y a 4 parties à assembler. Le chat bénéficie d'espace et ressort les pattes nettes, grâce au gros "clapet" qui se fixe sur la base et ne se soulève qu'au moment de la fonction automatique ; il s'enlève et se remet très facilement pour le nettoyage. La grille amène les déjections solides asséchées dans la partie opposée et adéquate du carton, les séparant ainsi des granulés ayant absorbé l'urine, puis retourne au fond dudit carton. L'intérieur permet à ma Mimi de garder son intimité mais elle peut voir l'extérieur sans être dérangée. Et nous sommes également protégés : allons-nous aux toilettes porte grande ouverte ? Le "couvercle", donc le dessus du Bac, se clipse par 2 aimants sur la base : il est de haute dimension et l'animal ne se sent pas à l'étroit ni 'étouffé'. Pour le moment, Mimi est encore jeunette, alors je * suis à la lettre * les recommandations de PetSafe : je n'utilise pas le mode automatique qui est simple, compréhensible et super pratique. Je le ferai fonctionner + tard. Essayé = procédé révolutionnaire et novateur adopté... pour les chats et leurs propriétaires. Les indications sur le paquet d'achat - tellement solide qu'il ne permet pas la casse - et le livret, sont hyper claires : pour une fois je suis arrivée à monter un article, assez imposant de prime abord, en plusieurs parties (impossible avec l'arbre à chat, par exemple, où j'ai dû attendre de me faire aider), et malgré un handicap. Trop contente... J'admire la solidité de ce Bac, bien conçu et très PRO, qui m'a réconciliée avec les Chats de façon générale : les odeurs, les saletés partout, les granulés en dehors/sous nos pieds, en appartement ? Non merci §§§ Il faut dire que j'utilise bien les cartons qui vont avec : on les place au-dessous de la base rectangulaire où ils s'emboîtent au millimètre près ; cependant je ne les change pas chaque fois : depuis le 15/08 j'ai le même carton - vous voyez leur résistance ? - : je sors les crottes tous les 2 jours, enlève la litière PetSafe Cristal (super produit également) tous les 15j/3 semaines à peu près, dès que je sens une odeur suspecte ; et là je lave le fond du carton épais lissé blanc avec une éponge et du vinaigre blanc, puis je le sèche avec un chiffon, et remets la litière neuve et propre, juste ce qu'il faut : ni trop, ni trop peu, environ moins d'1/2 sachet pour être tranquille. Je suis ravie. Et non, je n'ai pas d'actions chez PetSafe... mais je prends TOUT chez eux parce qu'au final on est largement gagnant. Calculez = 1 bac top niveau, 1 carton qui dure depuis août (5mois) et 2 sachets de litière idem. Qui dit mieux ? J'ai attendu avant d'écrire mon commentaire : je ne voulais induire personne en erreur. Moi-même j'ai pensé au début que je me laissais emporter par des idées de grandeur et de luxe... Maintenant, je suis une inconditionnelle PetSafe parce que je peux juger les avantages que donnent le recul et une utilisation quotidienne. Aucun inconvénient. Que du plaisir et du temps gagné, à partager avec nos compagnons, en toute propreté. Ah, un détail qui a son importance : je dors pas très loin du bac et n'ai ressenti aucune gêne de toxicité. Hé bien, si on m'avait dit, il y a quelques mois : 1 que j'aurais un chat, 2 que je vanterais les qualités reconnues de certains articles pour chats... je me serais crue sur orbite. Je n'ai eu que des chiens toute ma vie et j'ai un petit âge. Je le revendique haut et fort : Vive PetSafe et ses recherches pour une vie + harmonieuse, + saine, + agréable, avec nos animaux de compagnie qui ne demandent qu'amour et attention, et nous le rendent au centuple !!!

Rensar bra efter varje användning. Katten har alltid en fräsch låda. Engångsbrickan hade jag önskat man kunde byta mot en beständig i plast men har inte hittat någon sådan. Sladden som kommer medföljer är ca en meter så den kan inte stå för långt ifrån ett uttag.

I had high hopes for this product as it would mean less time spent for this dirty task. But things didn't go as well as advertised. First few days my cat didn't even attempted to use it as it has moving parts and he was afraid. After that he used it during the night when I was asleep but the next morning I saw that the front plastic part is removed from its place and there is poop everywhere. Also there was poop on the wrong side of the grill, stuck in there, never to be removed automatically. So I can only assume the auto collector went too early or went while the cat was still in there. I also believe the front part is very easily removed and it is not designed to be attached firmly. Overall after a bad couple of days he became more accustomed and now the situation looks better. As a result, I can now have less worry about these problems and suggest the product anyway to those who also hate manual cleanup. I do believe a standard litterbox is still needed as a backup though.

So, nun möchte ich auch mal einen Erfahrungsbericht weitergegen. Deshalb erst einige Infos zu den Rahmenbedingungen der Nutzung Bisherige Nutzungsdauer: 3 Monate Katzentoiletten: 1 Katzen/Alter: 5 / 4 ' 5,5 Monate Katzenfutter: BARF und hochwertige NF. Kein TF. Reinigungsinterwall: 10 Min (Werkseinstellung 20 min) Vorüberlegungen zur Kaufentscheidung: ' Ich möchte keine 4, später dann 6 Katzentoiletten. ' Eine Katzentoilette soll nicht riechen ' Die Sauberkeit der Toiletten sollte währen meiner Abwesenheit (Vollzeit Berufstätig) gewährleistet sein. Aufgrund des hohen Anschaffungspreises wurde also für die ersten drei Kitten eine solche Toilette angeschafft. Die wurde sofort angenommen, der Geruch super gebunden. Manchmal haben wir festgestellt, dass den Kitten die Wartezeit bis zu nächsten 'Rächen' zu lang ist, so dass wir das interwall verkürzt haben. Die Katzen haben das sehr schnell selbständig gelernt, dass die Toilette sauber ist, wenn der Rächen durchgelaufen ist. Der hyiene/health Zähler ist ein guter Anhaltspunkt für den Nutzungsgrad/Dauer, jedoch abhängig von den Katzen. (Solange die noch sehr klein waren, sind sie teilweise zu zweit/dritt auf die Toilette). Seit kurzen haben wir jetzt noch 2 also insgesamt 5 Kitten. Die Überlegung war entweder gleich eine zweite anschaffen, oder abwarten was passiert. Ich hab mich fürs abwarten entschieden. Alle 5 nutzen nun ohne Probleme eine Toilette, allerdings hält das Silikat dann max. 5 Tage. Das macht die Sache sehr teuer. Da ich aber den Komfort nicht missen möchte, verwende ich die Kartuschen wie folgt wieder: Mit einer Metall-Blumenkastenschaufel wird alles Entnommen, dann reibe ich die Folierung mit Essigreiniger feucht aus und Fülle anderes Silikatstreu nach. Damit kann zum einen das Streu in die Bio-Tonne entsorgt werden, und es mindert die Unterhalts-Kosten erheblich. Für XXL Silicat streu, darf man dann allerdings nicht die volle 5l-Packung verwenden, denn damit ist das Gesamt-Volumen für den Rächen und Schale zu groß. Es hat aber eine erheblich höhere Lebensdauer/Saugleitung, was nochmal kosten optimiert und den Gebrauch durch das geänderte Füllvolumen nicht einschränkt/verschlechtert. Die Schale ist, wenn man mit der Reinigung nicht zu lange wartet (bei uns zwischen 37 und 45 Zählern, oder ca. 4 Tage), lässt sich die Schale mindestens 4 mal recyceln, ehe ich eine neue Original-Kartusche einsetzte. (Folie löst sich am Bodenrand) Ich würde keine andere Katzentoilette mehr kaufen. Das ist, vor allem bei mehreren Katzen, nicht nur sauber für die Katzen, sondern auch Komfort fürs Personal ' Update am 25.11.2015: Nach sehr viel ausprobieren ist jetzt folgende Variante für uns die Beste: In der neuen Schale entferne ich den Kartontrennsteg, klebe die innen Eck-Kanten mit billigem Panzertape ab (z,b. aldi), ebenso den Übergang am Trennsteg. Das verhindert, dass sich die Folierung löst oder silikat darunter rutscht. Dann kaufe ich das sehr feine Silikatstreu Tiggerrino fun, damit läuft der Rächen am besten und leisesten durch. Bisher höchst erreichter Resycling-Durchsatz der Schale: 8 x (Streutausch mit Folie reinigen). Ich überlege eine zweite anzuschaffen, dann wären der Reinigungszyklus nur ca. alle 14 Tage fällig, da mitlerweile alle auch komprimiert urin absetzten, was ja erst so ab 6-7 monaten entwickelt ist. (und ggf. zwischendurch mal den Kot unter der Klappe entfernen).
