Can this machine dispense a shot of espresso then hot water to make an Americano? I don't want to be boiling the kettle to add water afterwards. Thank

Yes absolutely! I've done it many times. You press the middle button and then turn the milk steamer on at the same time and it dispenses hot water instead of steam (all detailed in the instruction manual).

What make of coffee pods/pads do I buy to fit this please, I've bought a few & they don't fit....help!!!

Does the steamer produce good enough microfoam to produce latte art?

I’m late to this one but I used to be a barista and the answer is yes and no. With the outer wand part on (the thick silver but) you can get acceptable foam for a cappuccino. I have found that with the other part removed - ie the small black nozzle exposed - you can use this in a similar way to a professional steam wand, controlling the amount of air you push into the milk and therefore control the texture of the milk. Like that, you can make pretty decent microfoam for lattes and flat whites.
