No significant lightening noticed on already fair hair, more to the point, no split ends or frizz.It is also reasonably efficient as a little seems to go a long way, with just about half an inch from the pump being sufficient on a normal head of short hair in soft water.It is not as good as the similar older John Frieda conditioners without the black band which were brilliant, so loses a star.However, the big bonus is that (at the time of writing) it does not contain Methyl-Isothiazolinone (MI) a powerful preservative which is also a significantly strong irritant for people with sensitive skin. MI is also an active ingredient in the Anti-Fouling paint used to dissuade barnacles from growing on ships. Several major companies (but not enough) are now withdrawing or reformulating their products which previously contained MI and also the Benzyl- variant.
