The clamp will open to just under 8cm; currently it is clamped to a desk measuring 1.5cm in thickness.

Don't take someone's link of a monitor. Sadly this is where the more research YOU do the better. You need to understand and set what you need against these I would say as a minimum Resolution (number of pixels) Refresh rate (the speed it refreshes the screen) Brightness Panel type (TN Vs IPS Vs VA) Other features you might want Read up, read professional reviews and if possible see it running in person. What someone recommends meets their needs, not yours. A good monitor for one person isnt always the same for another person. Happy hunting.

What is the diameter of the pole? I would want to use a longer 32mm Duronic pole, so want to know if compatible
