Lovely item and really works

As much as you can provide a meaningful review of a glass milk saver, I think this does the job it’s supposed to 😃

I loved the idea of the milk saver allowing me to make hot milky drinks without any mishaps or burnt pans. It arrived promptly ..was circular...and gladly in use the milk did not boil over...so allowing guarded approval.Unfortunately we still had burnt pans as before...and the hot milky drink tasted burnt ..as before!The product also broke in half..I feel it is worth a try especially as it is not costly....We have an induction hob and maybe that is part of the cause...however from our point of view this inexpensive product failed..and we feel somewhat disappointed.

Had one of these 50 years ago and it was very useful. This one bought as a present for an old friend.These are still being manufactured (in France) and the price, around £6, is very reasonable. Why would any buyer want to spend £100 on an old one (absolutely identical to any £6 new one) is beyond me! (Greedy sellers advertising for greedy prices. Caveat emptor!)

Great invention! My mum used one years ago, and I was so glad it was still on the market! Only 4 stars because the thing is so fragile! We broke ours! Bought a metal one which won't break, but isn't half as good.

I love the way it alerts me to the milk beginning to boil. I've not had spilt milk since I got it :)

Useful for boiling milk for yoghurt making - but cracked and no longer safe to use after 4 years - and maximum 100 uses. I have replaced with the same for the convenience of it but really: made and then used and washed properly one of these should last for thousands of uses. Judging by other reviews this breaking wasn't rare.

So simple, cheap and effective! Milk boils over because a skin of denatured protein forms that traps the steam beneath it and is forced up and out of the pan. The glass disc collects steam on it's underside and projects it as a focused stream of bubbles at a single point on the protein skin. This punctures the skin, letting the steam out. Furthermore, the glass rattles on the bottom of the pan so you know the milk is boiling. I remember these from my childhood, which is a long time ago. I'm very glad to have found one.

Thick glass to signal when a pot is boiling. Very useful!! I didn't like the price, but this style is better than the alternative: a thin metal disk. The only time I don't use it when boiling water is when I'm using the whistling tea kettle. :-) I have ordered it again since my temporary homemakers seem to misplace it. Have since found it. Now I have 2!!!
