I wanted something that would play those on cassettes as well as on CD. This player has proved very useful in allowing me to play the talking books as well as music CDs at night. The sound quality is good and it is quite a neat, good looking. and compact wee player. I don't particularly use the radio function because I already have a DAB radio in my room but the radio on this player works alright. The only drawback for me is that it does not play MP3 CDS To be fair the description never claimed that it did play MP3 CDs and I bought it anyway, so I suppose I shouldn't complain, but I do find the fact it doesn't a bit of a nuisance..
