A high quality set of textbooks used for homeschool education. My son was having trouble reading and these books were instrumental in bringing him up to grade level standards.The pictoral reader is excellent as it creates word association in a clean and quick manner. As one progresses through the advancing levels, it becomes abundantly clear as to the exact depths of lowering standards that the public school system has when compared to prior generations.10/10 would buy again if needed to replace.

Very pleased with this set, it’s easy and comprehensive and it’s been fun to both teach and learn.

I got these for my kids and grandkids

This product is an early version of private education that expresses Christian values that are currently under vicious assault by the left and it's associated media hacks. I wanted these books before Amazon decided that they were somehow detrimental to society and stopped making them available. They are excellent character building books that promote basic morality, self-reliance, and freedom.

Not all Hardcover as advertised, however, I have been going through it and it is, overall, a nice and pretty set. This set seems to be called the Original McGuffey's Eclectic Series, not to be confused with the McGuffey's Eclectic Reader Revised Edition. I do feel that Amazon owes me a little jester of compensation for not giving me it all hardbound as advertised. The Parent Teacher Guide is decent and lines up with the books so far as I can tell, but did not come hardbound as very much implied in the description. It would have received 5 stars had it came as advertised, but loses two stars for this. It should be noted what comes with this set.1. The Original McGuffey's Eclectic Primer (Hardbound)2. I could not get them to line up whatsoever, this was a disappointment for me. This edition is also larger than the orange and yellow covered McGuffey box sets that you see on here. I own the Orange one. This one is an even earlier version going back to 1838.

Absolutely fantastic!!! Far superior to the modern garbage, commonly referred to as, "common-core"... I'd strongly recommend these books to any parent that cares for their childs' education... Clearly fills in the excessive gaps left by the common garbage, commonly referred to as, "common-core"...

Great value for educating your children in spite of the public schools. If the teachers in the public schools could read at this level we wouldn't have the poor results we currently have.
