The texture is smooth, whipped, and easy to apply, and the vanilla orange scent is pleasant without being overpowering. It feels rich, nourishing, and leaves the skin feeling soft. I have oily/combination skin, and after using it regularly on my face, I noticed some dryness, tightness after washing, and eventually a bit of flaking. I later found that some other people with oily or combination skin reported similar experiences with tallow-based skincare. While many people seem to love it, it may not be the ideal choice for every skin type, especially if your skin tends to do better with lightweight, hydration-focused moisturizers. Once I switched back to a lighter gel moisturizer, those issues improved. Because of that, I don't think this balm is the best match for my particular skin type.
