Great book.
Readable. Knowledgeable in Jung's types. Helped me to determine what my type really is but did not dictate. Great book.

One of the best typology books out there.
The highlights of the book to me is how John explains the structure of Jungian typology as he knows it now, but then goes deeper into how different complexes can have dialogues with themselves. Another highlight is how he shows how barren typing is and how rich it can be by seeing how people can be mistyped and how to be patient until the right clues come about (eg. How society conditions certain functional preferences against personal preferences causing neuroticism.) The beginning of the book describes how the functions look to others, and to oneself showing a way in to developing the functions. I've bought some courses on engaging the functions but hopefully one day John will make reference book for that, though some others have been doing that for some time. I know John is fearful of people having breakdowns trying to develop all the functions like a hero causing more neurosis. Individuation and integrating the shadow is a slow process that is as much about being less bigoted against non-preferential types as moving more smoothly with the 8 functions.I also appreciate the bibliography within the text to highlight further reading.

The way MBTI should have been
Beebe is the new Myers Briggs, offering the ability, with the help of other well-taught students, to understand yourself and others, how they process information, what they failed to observe, and things that bring out their tidalwaves and tantrums.A lot of mental health and relationship problems could be addressed ahead of time, if they could teach this stuff, at the high school elective level.Personality study is much more powerful, now that it’s been more fully fleshed out, in the last decade or two, and now that MBTI bigotry against sensors has been largely dispelled.MF Fe/Ni BPSC (ENFJ, blast/play/sleep/consume)

Livraison déplorable
Voir les photos. Un échange sera effectué gratuitement, mais quand même, 40€ pour un livre arrivé comme ça. J'espère que le prochain sera en état neuf.

Useful book on jungian typology
One of the most useful book on C. G. Jung typology. Not so much jungians interested on deeper analysis of this point and Beebe is very good.

Fascinating synthesis of Jungian typology, individuatipn, and archetypes
This is an interesting book advancing Jungian personality theory based on Beebe's clinical practice. Beene offers some interesting three word descriptions of Jung's eight attitude-functions (ex. Extroverted sensing). The first word is the appearance to others. The second is the intention. The third is the ideal that a person "like that" develops towards.Beene also argues that individuals may learn to access all eight function-attitudes through individuatipn even though many people may only have good conscious control over their dominant and auxilliary processes. Development tends to advance sequentially, and each attitude-function is governed by a specific archetype. It's complicated to explain onnan iPhone but it's interesting to read and offers a much greater level of understanding than the simpler MBTI theory of ten or more years ago. I recommend it.
