Best possible at this price!
Having owned through the years hundreds of pairs of headphones ranging from freebies to £400+ I can honestly say for build/sound quality there is very little competition to the RHA MA390 for £20. I was pleasantly surprised at the clear, punchy sound, with deep full bass, well balanced highs and very distinct vocals. It's easily comparable to that of pairs in the £70-£80 price range. As for build quality, the aluminium build of the actual buds is sturdy and the cable is made from fabric up to the split then rubber. The one button set-up for calls/voice assistant works well, and I don't particularly miss the lack of volume controls found on other models. Furthermore the inclusion of a 3 year warranty is testament to the faith RHA have in the quality of their build. I would be delighted to get 3 years out of headphones in general at this price, and the warranty guaranteeing that offers great peace of mind. Overall a great product for the price and in general.

Probably the best you’ll get for the money
Well, they certainly won’t win any awards for accuracy, but these diminutive earphones deliver a ‘fun’, punchy sound - well suited to pop, rock and hip-hop. They’re not great with classical and more detailed genres of music; there’s a bit too much bass for my liking, and the treble could be sweeter. Also, the bass seems to ‘colour’ the other musical frequencies, and the mids in particular suffer as a result. HOWEVER, despite these misgivings, the overall sound produced is rather pleasant, and the soundstage is surprisingly wide for in-ear cans. For that reason I can recommend this set. They’re likely to be an improvement over the free earphones bundled with your smartphone, at least. They come with three sets of earpieces - so you’re bound to find a fit that suits you - and there’s a soft carrying case and a shirt clip included as well. Also fitted to the cable is a one-button remote, which works just fine. There’s no volume control, but personally I don’t miss this - I just use the volume rocker on my phone through my pocket. One piece of advice if you decide to change the rubber earpieces provided: turn them inside-out before putting them onto the actual earphone. This is a bit fiddly, but a lot less fiddly than fitting them ‘right-way round’. Some have complained about the loss of sound from one channel or the other over time and other build quality issues, but there’s a 3-year warranty so if you do have problems RHA should sort you out. For £20, these are a bargain. If you’re a bit strapped for cash I can’t imagine you’d get more for your money elsewhere.

Nice update to the MA350
Not sure I like the rubber coated upper part - I realise this may have been due to the rustling people complained about with the fabric covering but if you wore the MA350 behind and over the ear you wouldn't have had the problem ;) Nor am I keen on the positioning of the microphone/remote on the MA390u when you wear the cables behind and over the ears - it feels too far back. But, as I bought these to mainly listen to music, it's a small issue for me. The sound is warm, yet clear and the ear buds fit me well using the smallest supplied buds. I also like the cable tidy that's on the upper part of the ear phones. I did initially think it was pointless as I assumed it would only go as far the microphone/remote but then I discovered that that side was split to enable the removal of the wire so you can bypass the remote and reconnect above it. The remote is also a nice addition. It works well and comes in useful when your phone is in your pocket. I also preferred the L shaped phone jack on the MA350 as it didn't stick out so far and I found to be less likely to get caught on things. So why am I still giving 5* to this product? My complaints are minor niggles and don't detract from the quality of the product. These are very good earphones and I would definitely recommend them to others.

Amazing for the price
First thing first: Look and feel really well made for the price. The buds are metal, looking solid, the cable is half braided, half normal. It is braided until it splits up for the ears. It's a nice soft cable that doesn't need a lot of time to break and soften so it feels nice straight from the box. Sound: Punching above their price tag for sure! Quite a wide stage for such earphones with a nice amount of bass. Nothing too serious though but it's there. Sound is good, nothing too exceptional but for the price these are definitely one of the best earphones out there. If you think on upgrading your original phone earphones, these are a pretty good choice and a nice value. And moreover come with a 3 year guarantee which at this price point is a no brainer. Will try to update this review as time goes on to report on the build quality.

Crackling after 10 days' use
I never leave reviews, but I was really excited about these headphones being "the best earbuds you can buy under £30" and these are not that. Sound quality was great, packaging beautiful, headphones themselves feel quality but they lasted 10 days before they started crackling. Like that crackling that comes before an earbud cutting out altogether. 10 days. Of light usage. Maybe an hour or two a day. Couldn't return as I'd already thrown out the packaging for them, but I will not be buying again.

Quite a bargain but could be better.
I've been a long time Sennheiser earbud user, but decided to try these RHA buds as they have a good rating and come with a guarantee - we all know how annoying the cutting-out of thin cables can be! The packaging is superb and stylish, with the headphones displayed nicely. There is a pouch to store them in and extra earbuds. The feel on these is ... not premium. The white buds seem quite tough, and the medium-sized buds feel looser in the ears than Sennheiser equivalents. The result is that the noise isolation doesn't feel quite right (the larger buds are just that touch too large for me). The sound is punchy, but bass-heavy. I shouldn't gripe because these were only £19.90, but I would have thought the amount of "premium" slogans on these would have been an indication of slightly more premium feel.

Amazing customer service and great headphones
Have you EVER had a pair of decent but relatively cheap headphones that last for 3 years? Its really unlikely but these RHA 390s have great sound and are pretty robust. In the event that they break, the WONDERFUL folks at RHA have a no quibble guarantee - my original paid lasted just over 2 years which I think is not unreasonable. However a couple of emails later and RHA had a new pair of the uprated model in the post. Eight months later I thought the new pair had broken and RHA sent me ANOTHER replacement with no quibbles. As I was packing them up I noticed that there was a huge bit of wax obscuring the sound from one ear piece and rather embarrassed I fessed up to RHA and offered to pay for the replacement as its handy to have two pairs anyway. I have just had a message from them this morning telling me to keep the second pair with no charge. This is a great British Company and if you can find better customer service anywhere then please tell me about it! For under £20 you can't go wrong - dither no more - if you want a decent but not outrageously expensive set of in ear headphones then look no further! PS I am in no way related to RHA just a very satisfied customer.

OK for the price
This is my third set of these and I accept that they will only last a year before falling apart and needing returned under warranty. Yup, every sinle pair just falls to bits and it's a real shame if I am honest. The work well enough, are a comfortable fit and are light. They are not active cancelling, but they do do a good job of isolation. Inegration with Android is, at best, basic and you only really have start/stop control; no remote volume or anything. If they were better made (it seems to be the glue that fails) then they would get a solid 5 stars.

Good value, very good sound, well made. Great customer service.
I really like these earbuds. Well made and excellent materials. Sound is good, although mid-range is a bit limited. I have only had them for a few weeks so I'm not sure how well they will hold up over time. They fit my ears really well and don't fall out during workouts. The spot where the cable connects to the plug may give out over time so I have reinforced that area with tape. Overall I am very satisfied and find these to be good value. Update: After 1.5 years of using these earbuds one side of the casing separated. I contacted RHA through their website and provided a picture of the problem and proof of purchase. Since they have a 3 year warranty, I wanted to see if they would help me as without resorting to taping the right earbud, I couldn't use them anymore. They sent me a new pair! I am very pleased with their excellent and no hassle customer service. I'm changing my rating to 5 stars as the overall experience with this product has been outstanding.

Molto soddisfatto!

Incredible Earbuds For Not a Lot of $$$
Really enjoying the RHA's after just 24 hours of play. I've put a variety of music thru them (rock, metal, blues, hip hop, jazz, r&b, classical, and spoken word) and I'm pleasantly surprised at how balanced these are for sub $30 buds. The bass and treble are a bit over-pronounced, but still within my acceptable ranges for listening. Guitar focused music sounds amazing. I spent some time listening to Stevie Ray Vaughan and Gary Clark, Jr and was amazed at how good they sounded through these buds. One last note about the sound of these buds...The cable is well designed to reduce microphonics. I walk my dog all the time while listening to podcasts or music. Earbuds with cheap cabling cause all kinds of rustling as the cable moves against my clothes. These RHAs do NOT have that problem. The bottom half of the cord - before the splitter - is covered in a woven protective fabric that completely removes any rustle. The top half is coated in the usual rubber, but is thick enough not to cause any rustle. This means i hear my music when walking...not cord microphonics. So, the sound is very good...incredible at this price point. The next question is how they fit. I've tried all kinds of buds and I tend to prefer small and light. I don't like the kind that wrap over your ear, or the kind that have huge bass ports that end out hurting your ears after more than an hour of listening. The RHAs, I'm happy to report, are small and unobtrusive. After 5 minutes you forget they are there. There are included ear tips to change sizes. I found the default worked perfectly for me...no slippage and decent noise isolation. Keep in mind...these are passive noise isolation, so some noise can seep through at low volumes. However, considering how loud these buds can get, you likely won't notice much. How's the build quality? The aluminum housings seem very well designed. I already mentioned the cable covers are good. I'll report back after a few weeks/months of wearing these every day to see how they hold up, but thus far I'm very impressed with the attention to small details on these buds. The aluminum is smooth w/out burrs and the cable connections seem sturdy and well protected. Overall, I love these new buds. I'm always looking for <$50 ear buds because I use them so much that the normal wear and tear means I go through a few sets every year. I wear them at work...while walking my dog...in the gym...just about 6 - 8 hours a day. That's a lot of use, so any buds that can last 3 - 6 months - to me - are really good buds. That being said, I don't like to sacrifice sound quality, which is where these RHAs come in. I'm really digging how they sound. I'm listening to James Brown as I write this, and the growl in his voice, the groove of the bass, and the blare of the trumpets is crystal clear. If you're looking for earbuds to really get into your music, these can't be beat at this price. UPDATE Jan 2019 Still using these again headphones 5 months later and they aren't still in great shape. I use them daily and carry them around in my pocket without a case. I can't believe they are this durable and sounds this good. I'm an RHA fan now! Highly recommended.
