NLT Inspire Bible Large Print, Tranquil Blue: The Bible for Creative Journaling (Inspire: Large Print): The Bible for Coloring & Creative Journaling

It's a hefty, large bible so not something to take in a bag out and about. However, that makes it more special to keep on my desk at home. I bought watercolour pencils and they work well with it - the pages crinkle when damp but I like that effect and there is no bleed through. Gel pens work fine with it. The artwork is lovely and there is plenty of space to add your own. I have highlights, underlines, notes and graffiti style words in mine now as I engage with it more deeply and using it becomes a form of artistic lectio divina ( though I can't draw). Buy it and have fun - using it is another way to spend time with God. The print is large, clear and easy to read.

This is such a beautiful bible. It's large and heavy so isn't really portable at all but it's amazing. I've bought a few of these now for gifts as the recipients loved them so much! The paper is thin but feels lovely. There is space to write and draw all around the passages. Beautiful as a bible or a journal. Would absolutely recommend!

I love the fact that I can add to this Bible by adding notes or my drawings down some of the margins and colouring the black and white printed notes and drawings on other margins - they even are beautiful as they are (without colouring). I just would like someone to tell me which are the best colouring implements to use on this fine paper. Love the large print as my eyes are needing a little help these days. Some people have remarked that it is very heavy. Well, for a large print bible, you have to expect the extra weight, but not too bulky for me. It is a personal gift to myself and I shall be using it privately at home, so no worries about carrying it around. How I avoid this, is I have a NRSV and the New Revised Jerusalem Bible on my Kindle which I carry with me when I go away (added advantage of that is I can add my notes and highlights to it very easily.). Adding my own post review comments. I subsequently bought a 72 piece set of soft colouring pencils in a zipped case, everyone has its own name and number. They are a beautiful set to work with on the “Inspire” bible. I wasn’t keen to use anything but pencil as I did not want any bleed through. Happy with this duo of Bible and Art - has a very tranquil and peaceful affect.

Easy to use for study.

I love this journaling bible. There are lots of colouring to be done which really helps me to meditate on the words that I have read, I love having quiet time whilst colouring and really spending time digesting my readings. The pages are thick enough to colour but would need to be careful what medium is used. I use pencil crayons and watercolours generally but if I do want to use copics or other markers or felt pens I will prep the page beforehand with clear gesso and that works perfectly. I chose this bible specificallu as it has large print and is a little bigger allround which means more space for writing and adding your own illustrations.

Absolutely beautiful journalling bible. I bought one for my godson a few years ago and have just treated myself to this. The bible has been translated into easy to read modern English. There is plenty of room in the margins for your own thoughts and inspired sketches. There are also pre-printed drawings for you to colour if you're stuck for inspiration or just want to get the creative juices flowing. Simply gorgeous.

I LOVE this Bible. I love the size of the print - I love the way the Word is laid out on the pages - I love the beautiful design on the edge of the pages when the Book is closed - I love the space on the outside margins for taking notes and for coloring. I would offer a couple of notes to think about, especially for those who didn't see it in a bookstore prior to purchasing it. Be aware that this is a large and heavy volume. It isn't necessarily easy to carry around, unless you purchase a good case that has a handle to make it easier to hold this much weight for any length of time. FYI - cases in this size are not easy to come by. Also be aware that the pages are thin, so I'm not sure I would recommend using colored pens or markers on the pages at all. I believe they would have had to use as thin a page as possible to try to manage the weight of the Book, but that's pure speculation on my part. But I didn't buy this for using outside the home - I bought it for when I want to dive into the Word and meditate on it a while in a nice, quiet room. This has added a dimension to my special devotional time that I really enjoy a great deal. I'm new to using colored pencils so I got a set that was affordable and house them in the BTSKY® Portable Canvas Zippered Colored Pencil Case-Super Large Capacity 72 Slot Pencil Bag Pouch for Watercolor Pencils (Blue) , which is nearly the same size as the Bible itself. They're also close enough in color that I'm well pleased to keep them sitting out on the end table near my devotional chair. I really love this Bible. If you need a more easily-readable font and would enjoy some meditation time and coloring while reflecting on His word, I believe you will love this Bible, too.

This bible is exactly the same as described. The enlarged verses makes it more interesting to read. The paper quality is good. Although the cover was broken but the bible was safe and undamaged. Ich liebe die Bibel! Hatte mich für die "Large Print" Edition entschieden, da ich bei normalen Bibeln schnell mal Kopfschmerzen bekomme von der kleinen Schrift. Die Schriftgröße hier ist absolut wunderbar! Das Buch an sich ist ziemlich schwer und groß, es also in den Händen zu halten während man liest ist wohl nur für begrenzte Zeit möglich. Da ich die Bibel aber immer auf dem Tisch liegend lese, um währenddessen Notizen zu machen, ist das kein Problem. Die Bibel ist perfekt für die, die nicht (so gut) malen können, die aber trotzdem ein paar Illustrationen zwischendurch möchten. Es ist aber immer noch genug Platz, um selbst zu zeichnen und Verse zu illustrieren. Die Zeilen an der Seite sind schön breit, sodass genug Platz zum Schreiben ist. Die Anmerkungen in der Fußnote sind hilfreich, da sie auf Unterschiede zwischen der NLT Version und anderen hinweisen, oder Vergleiche zu anderen Stellen der Bibel zeigen. Die Sprache ist relativ einfach, man kann also auch als Nicht-Muttersprachler alles ohne große Probleme verstehen. Die NLT Version ist ja auch eine der einfachsten Bibelübersetzungen ins Englische. Wer mehr nach "Wort-für-Wort" Übersetzungen sucht, der sollte sich wohl eher die ESV oder King James Version anschauen, die dann aber auch dementsprechend schwieriger zu lesen sind. Ich benutze zum ausmalen der Illustrationen Buntstifte, für Notizen Stabilo Fineliner. Die Fineliner sind minimal auf der nächsten Seite zu sehen, aber das stört mich nicht wirklich. Die Seiten sind etwas dicker als bei herkömmlichen Bibeln, allerdings immer noch relativ dünn. Eine Bible mit dickeren Seiten wird man allerdings wahrscheinlich kaum irgendwo finden, da diese dann einfach zu dick und schwer wäre. Insgesamt bin ich sehr zufrieden mit der Bibel und bin froh den Großdruck genommen zu haben. Anmerkung: Die Bibel ist nicht so blau wie auf dem Bild, das Cover geht eher in Richtung türkis.
