Technically a 4.5 star
I only put it on a few days ago on a very large stain glass single glazed window on the stairs that was just haemorrhaging warm air out if the house. I wanted something that was easily removable just in case it didn't work with the textured glass. I needn't have worried. It went on wonderfully and you only notice the film when you run your hand over the glass. Even though its only been on a few days I can already notice the cold pocket of air from the stairs is gone. The true test will be when the weather gets much colder.I would however remove half a star for 2 things. It's quite difficult to get a single layer of the film separated. On the first panel I had actually put a double layer on without noticing so when I trimmed it from the rest of the sheet I actually ended up wasting another window square's worth. The second reason for removing half a star is how fiddly it is to put on. Maybe because I was covering 6 panes rather than 1 large one it was more difficult. Cutting the film to size is quite hard if you want it for smaller window. The tape is super sticky so it's very unforgiving if you don't get it spot on first time. It's also very easy to melt a hole in the film with the hair dryer that's needed but you just need to be careful.Saying that I'd still recommend it to anyone. A cheap way to keep in a bit of heat. Plus a little tip, warm the window with the hair dryer before putting on the tape. Makes it a lot more stable.

After struggling to set it up, it works great
It took a while to finally get it on, it's actually fairly difficult to do. The double-sided tape included is a pain in the backside to peel, and the plastic sheet itself is pretty difficult to cut with scissors or a knife. But once it's on it is great. It's been on my bedroom windows for about a month and a half and since then condensation has been a very low amount. I left a decent amount of extra plastic at the bottom to allow any condensation that will (and does) form on the plastic it will not get on the window sill itself which really helps prevent damage and mold build up. From the first day of waking up with it on my windows, I noticed the room was a lot warmer from the days before, and it was on average colder outside. This means it helped keep heat in the room a lot, which is great to wake up to. Only issue is I will probably have to take it down in the summer if it gets warm as I don't want to melt in this room. I would really recommend this product as it does the job really well, however I would suggest you get a friend to help you out to set it up just to make your life a little easier.

Simple, effective, fiddly
When I bought this I didn't expect it to be as good as it was. I'm happy to say it has actually surpassed my expectations, but that's not to say there aren't some negatives about it.Firstly, I bought this because my rented house has old double-glazed windows that basically aren't double glazed. Despite running a dehumidifier to the point where the air was as dry as a desert, and the wife and I would wake up feeling hungover we were so dried out during the night, the windows were still covered in condensation. And with condensation comes black mould. So I bought this. To be honest I felt cheated when I got it. It is just a sheet of thin plastic and some double sided tape. So not worth the money, right? And then there was the putting it up. Having to find floorspace enough to cut a window shaped size, while the cat bounds around on her new crunchy crispy playground that you (obviously) have bought just for her was a pain in behi d to say the least.Depending on how big your window(s) is/are you're probably going to need a hand putting it up. Sometimes the plastic sheet hits the exposed tape before it's meant to causing rucks etc. Most of these you can sort out with a hairdryer, but some you can't. There isn't a worse feeling than fecking around with all this only to find a huge crease along your window pane that won't go away. Finally, it's up. You take the hairdryer to it and eventually you cant even see that it's there. Not only has it stopped ANY condensation forming on my windows, it has also made my house much warmer. Win!I've actually placed it to just above the window handle meaning I can still open and close my windows, and therefore I leave it on during summer. I've had the current set on for about a year.Just beware, you forget it's there. So you go to peek out the window at something going on outside only to bump your face against the new invisible forcefield before the glass. Doesn't hurt, but can break the sheeting.Overall then this is the most effective, simple, yet fiddly solution I can imagine. For the results I've had I'd say this is as cheap as chips. However, if I'm basing it on what you're actually paying for then I'd say this is overpriced. But since it's not going to break the bank, if in doubt I'd say go for it. I will definitely get it again if needed.

Doesn't work, waste of money and time
Just have a brand new patio window installed so perfect opportunity to try out this insulation method. What a waste of time and wrangling with the plastic sheet on such a large pane of glass. Applied to one door only so could make a comparison. It made absolutely no difference whatsoever to the cold coming through or the condensation which collects at the bottom. I don't know whether the plastic sheet needs to be thicker in order to be efficient, this is as thin clingfilm, don't waste your money, emperors new plastic. Also every tiny bit of fluff and dust sticks to the plastic so it's a v v v frustrating job to get it on the window clean. you clean the window first but the plastic acts like a dust magnet and attracts everything to the glass you've just cleaned and the plastic sheet. don't waste your time and energy. disappointing. Tried to give zero stars but of course you can't.

Looks ok, but doesn't work that good
I decided to try it as my windows got really cold in the cold weather that we had last week and the condensation in the morning was awful. It took quite some time to install it properly, but it turned out really good. The whole foil is evenly stretched and you can barely see it, and you can still open the windows, so I was happy with it. Until I noticed that the condensation is still somehow getting in there.. and because it is behind the foil unfortunately I need to take it off to wipe it out. So, in the end, it was a waste of the money and time spent on sticking it on.

Sortedmy north-facing box room mould problem
Used in a box room thats North facing and seafacing with a wooden window frame and lots of cold, damp and windy weather to deal with. Had a mold problem, not really bad, just in the corner above an air vent that creeps along the ceiling above the window frame and along the bottom of the wooden window frame and cill, not the worst but looked grotty and needed addressing, all the mould sprays etc performed a very temporary fix and I thought this was worth a go, measured the window, cut the film and sticky strips, the film is completely clear (so you can't see it from outside) then followed the instructions, which were straightforward. This was a complete success, the room is noticeablely warmer, mold has stopped completely, it just didn't come back and we've seen some seriously bad weather this year. I keep going into the room and checking but it's bone dry and no mould. I've been able to completely clean and repaint everything and it's all stayed mould free. For the price and the ease of installation, it's very very impressive.

so easy to put up ... literally a few minutes ... and very effective
i was a little apprehensive about putting this up .... my main reason for doing so is my home is listed and has single glazing and i livterally am across the road from the sea so condensation is a nightmare. the impact this has had is immediate. condensation reduced to an absolut minimum rather than running down the window pain ... as for visibility, it is not an exaggeration to say the the clarity is such that i genuinely do not know its up. i would take a photo but honestly, theres no point as you would see anything! remarkable and actually fun to put up because when you run the hair dryer over it you see all the wrinkle disappear. (i know right? little things please little minds). is there a rise in the warmth of the room is more hard to tell as i have 15 ft high ceilings ... lets just say i don't notice it being any colder.

Works but very finicky
The film works. No doubt about it. Keeps he room warmer and no water on the windows. However,You're going to have to keep readjusting it as the tape is not strong enough. This creates air pockets in between the film and the window creating folds and creases.Overall. OK solution until windows are eventually replaced.
