LG G5 32 GB SIM-Free Smartphone - Rose Gold

After spending dozens and dozens of hours on reviews, at this time, the only 2 main phones to chose from are the Samsung S7 and LG G5. (Apple??? please....) In effectively every way, G5 and S7 are as good as each other. I picked the G5 so I can swap the battery for a new one as they all lose power over time (can't on the S7) and the dual camera, which after a few months is great. What has turned into a real gem of a function over the last 3 months is the finger print scanner and its location. It woks 99% of the time first time and its perfectly located on the back to be used as the phone is picked up and turned over, so unlocking it in 1 movement. No more pins and I'd never go back! Battery life is good, every thing is good, its working well, no issues. It's not "waterproof" like the S7, but then the Samsung warranty wont cover water damage, so its not waterproof and not worth the risk! In a world of similar handsets, this is (at the moment) the top of the pile (ok, 1st place shared) but the camera, finger print scanner and removable battery are 3 prime reasons I'd pick this over anything else at the moment if I was given the choice.

I had LG G2 and G3 and I really like them. I decided to buy new mobile and LG G5 was a natural choice. When I got the new LG G5 I was very disappointed about the UGLY back design. The back is NOT flat and the two cameras are bold. but the worst is that LG has moved the volume buttons from the back to the (left) side. That is less comfortable. On my old G2 and G3 phone the volume buttons are on the BACK which is genius. LG has made big mistake and changed the volume buttons position. Second problem is the G5 is modular - why is the problem? because there is a BIG gap between the phone and the bottom cover. It is UGLY. On my old LG G2 I could not remove the battery, but it was not a problem at all. LG has to increase the mAh from 2,800mAh to more than 3000mAh instead to give the option to remove the battery. But if they really want to give us the option to remove the battery (that is useful sometimes), why not from the back, like G3? I do NOT care about LG Friends! I need a mobile phone - not friends!! which most of them are gimmicks. Because the modular option the mobile doesn't feel premium, but looks and feel defect :( The CPU, The screen are amazing! The Android 6 is very nice, but has nothing to do with LG. - Design - ugly. (back - looks like face of an alien. Front - much better but the bottom cover makes huge gap) + All the rest - Good or Excellent. Conclusion: If the design is important to you = PLEASE DON'T BUY THIS UGLY MOBILE PHONE!

Right all I'm gona say is I own the G3 and the G4 and the G5 is poorly built compared to these phones which for long term use simply doesn't cut it. My G5 arrived in the afternoon around 6 and at first I was impressed as I unboxed it and set it up and mine mated up really well where the battery joins the body and at first I thought I had got a good one,boy was I wrong.... By 11 that night the power button had become loose and tacky and the finger print scanner failed to work completely and this in only it's first night,really LG how can you make a phone this poorly made??? Anyways mine is now going back to Amazon for a full refund and if you do a search the power button being loose is a common problem and so once I get my refund I may go to the HTC m10 cause they know how to build a proper phone,I had the HTC m7 and m8 and m9 and they never let me down they was built like tanks. Sorry LG but for this money your phone should last longer than a night before it breaks,it ain't no flagship and so if you is reading this I'd say seriously don't bother cause for long term use this phone won't last.... Edit,I have now got a LG V10 from clove uk and it's far superior to the G5 and the v10 is far better built and just as fast as the G5 and the battery life is just as good also so I'd say get yourself a V10 instead and yes you won't be officially supported by LG in the UK because the V10 is a import but clove would honour the warranty anyways. Updated2---,Since this review I had to send the LG V10 back as it became faulty and I then got myself a HTC 10 which I used for 5 months before getting myself another G5 from argos which has been working brilliantly and it seems LG have sorted the build quality issues out so I would recommend now the G5 and mine had the nougat update and it's running great also. It's a very good smartphone with the added bonus of the removable battery.

I love this phone. It is everything I wanted. I will NOT buy a phone with a sealed-in battery. This LG G5 is the only top-end phone I think with replaceable batteries. But, the battery 'lugs' (on the battery) can and in my case did BREAK the phones battery retention catch within 24 hours of this phone arriving, destroying it. Maybe a nail file should be used to make the lugs more rounded rather than 'L' shaped. I was gutted! I followed the instruction to the letter. Fortunately Amazon immediately refunded the phone and I ordered an identical one. I am SO pleased with it. But please PLEASE be SO SO careful removing the battery. I think I will leave it in the phone til the battery is old and only then remove the battery once ever. I even looked at the internet teardown x-ray image of the retention catch as I could not believe it snapped. You MUST remove the battery in the direction indicated (as I did but it still broke). Please don't take this as a negative review as there is so much that is right about this phone and surely LG must look at their manufacturing as an ongoing process? I did remove the battery on the this new one 8 times on day one to be sure it wouldn't break. It sounded and felt as if it would break, but it didn't. But I don't really trust the mechanism. Frankly, LG should put some publicity out, that they are aware there was (?) an issue but it is fixed, as this problem could affect sales. Others on internet forums have spoken of the phone breaking when removing the battery. But all said, I would buy LG G5 again and recommend it as an excellent phone whose battery can be replaced after 18mth - 2 yrs. So hopefully a long life ahead. I do worry though that if I swapped the battery every time it was flat that the phone might only last a fortnight! 5 stars nevertheless.

I have had this phone for a little over 1 months and I want to say that it works very well. It suits all my needs as a power-user. I have only given it 3 stars because I woke up one morning to see that the camera protection was shattered. I've read about this issue and there has been several users complaining about the fact that with a bit of pressure from the finger the rear-camera protection cracked. I reported it to LG (to use the warranty) over a week ago and haven't gotten any reply. I am going on vacation soon and I don't even have a camera now. I am sorry It deserves at least 4 star but this basic issue with the rear camera protection glass and the POOR customer service comes with the phone.

First "flagship" phone I own. I am very impressed by the performance. Consider the Pros and Cons before buying. Pros: Wide Angle camera. It offers new perspectives you never thought a phone could offer. It is the most impressive feature i found to be useful. Fits my hand nicely (medium large dude hand) Unlocks my chromebook via bluetooth. Good audio. Quick and sharp GPS detection. Unlocks my phone with one finger. Modular design makes swapping battery really convenient (details below). Cons: The battery, let me explain. This phone can last really long without gps, mobile network turned on throughout the day, but that's not practical. I'm a Univerisity student, i turn Wifi, mobile network, location on and off very frequently. The phone battery had never died on me, nor turn red. But it gave me this unwarranted fear of not being able to use the phone at night with 20% battery left. However, I solved the battery problem by purchasing a LG External Replacement Battery Kit. It comes with 1 white charging case + 1 genuine LG g5 battery. Look it up, it's around 30 pounds. I carry the battery kit along with me everyday. So i leave my house with two fully charged battery ready. The additional investment in the battery kit is a must if you own a G5. LG External Replacement Battery Kit for G5 The design. This category is very subjective but some people may find the lack of metallic-look cheap. I personally think none of smartphone design matters, You'll slap a case on it anyway! Otherwise, it looks great indoor and in cloudy settings. That's all! I hope you find this review useful, I am giving 5 star because I don't think is fair to ding points just because of the battery, other users with phone without the modular design will likely suffer from battery anxiety (except maybe samsung note 7, but those explode). Complaints about battery is a general concern in the smartphone market today. Get a G5 if you are into photography and do not mind carrying additional batteries around. peace.

I previously had an LG G4, which unfortunately died and went to boot loop. Wanting to get myself back on the air as quickly as possible I looked at the LG G5. On paper it looked OK so I bought it. In many respects it is quite a good phone. The display is very good. The vendor layor on top of Android is relatively thin. The battery is removable. And we have a 3.5mm headphone port. It is nice to have a fingerprint reader. The Quick Charge function works well, allowing a good amount of charge to be loaded in a relatively short space of time. I have Quick Charge chargers at home, in the office,and in the car, and the charge situation works well. The USB port is USB C, which, once you've acquired the necessary cables, is quite nice because it seems to be slightly larger and stronger than micro USB and looks like the phone's port and any cables should last longer. Out of the box, the stock launcher has a major flaw in that it doesn't have a separate app drawer --- all apps appear on the home screens. However this is easily fixable by downloading an alternative launcher produced by LG themselves. Once installed, everything is happy again and we have your choice of apps on the home screens, with the entire set accessible in the app drawer. But it's not without problems. It's well known that this phone opens by detaching the "chin" of the phone.This is OK I suppose, but it has problems. The mechanism which latches it in place isn't very convincing, and it takes a bit of a knack to get it to latch at all. There is a gnawing worry that it will come unlatched by itself --- a worry that no other phone has. Also, if you look at the latch, and the battery latch, you can't help thinking that the leverage is just begging for the "chin" to get snapped off one day, making the phone seem quite delicate. It looks like LG is trying to solve a problem which doesn't exist, and creating more problems in the process. I applied a screen protector to this phone. Unfortunately the top part of the front curves backwards, making it hard for a screen protector to stick. Also the screen is not a smooth curve at the top of the display where it starts to curve back. There is a soft step, meaning the screen protector doesn't actually stick on over the step, leaving a grey band across the display at that point, and dust gets in at either end of that band. And now the "biggie". After a few weeks of use, the GPS sensitivity on this phone started going down hill, with frequent drop-outs in sat nav use, even with a clear horizon-to-horizon sky. After a couple of months the GPS sensitivity is now so low that it will lot acquire a lock at all. Great. Now I have to go messing around the repair/replacement process, getting another phone etc. etc. So we have the LG G4, a lovely phone but unfortunately badly engineered and died of boot loop. Now the LG G5 which has a number of flaws, and the GPS dies. So there seems to be some engineering problems here, which is a shame because they are otherwise good phones. On balance I can't recommend this phone to anyone. It's an interesting experiment, but demonstrates that the design used by almost every other smartphone (removable back) is actually a good one.

Worked for 6 months fine and then stopped working entirely when charging one night. Was completely bricked and wouldn't reboot for over a week. Eventually got it to power up and it is stuck in a boot loader setup. Unable to reboot it to the main operating system. I would not recommend buying this as it is a gamble it will never turn on again.

Posso solo dire che soddisfazione! Funziona come un top di gamma ma costa molto di meno, veditore veramente valido.

Très bon téléphone avec quand même une autonomie un peu juste (la batterie toent moins d'une journée en charge complète)

Aunque LG ha dejado de desarrollar su sistema de módulos, merece la pena el teléfono principalmente por la cámara que es de lo mejorcito (por no decir lo mejor) que hay en el mercado, al tener doble cámara (una con gran angular) permite jugar y cambiar el enfoque. Si te gusta echar fotos y tener recuerdos sin duda es un móvil ideal.

Arrivato con 15 giorni di ritardo rispetto alla previsione, comunque arrivato , mi hanno restituito €15.00 per il disturbo, una cover, e un vetro protettivo. Per quanto riguarda il telefono:funziona, prezzo ottimo, schermo non troppo grande, batteria sostituibile, tra poco si aggiornerà ad oreo 8.0 praticamente fantastico!.

Article commandé à 4 reprises sur différents sites et à chaque fois, c'est le H840 qui est fourni au lieu du H850 ... ce qui n'est pas la même chose en configuration système. J'ai fini par abandonner ... Dommage.
