Has anyone used this to removed noise from guitar amp?

Will this eliminate transformer buzz in my surround sound amplifier?

Are you sure it's the device, and not something else affecting it? If it's the device, then it's faulty and nothing will fix that bar dealing with the actual issue. If it's dirty mains power - thumps from fridges switching on, or powerline internet, or similar - then this will absolutely work. You could spend more - MUCH more - at the snake oil sales places other reviewers have mentioned, but you'll be wasting your money. Either a. you amp is faulty, get it fixed or b. this will clean up the mains noise.

How is this tacima model cs947 different from a first model few years back? less/more effective, less/more quality, less/more ac noise filtering?

Whilst an old question have answered in case anyone else buying now has the same question. I have the older version and it looks like it only has 1 metal oxide varistor for surge protection (the blue disks in the picture) and no gas discharge tube. So more robust surge protection on the new one (assume type 3) plus a green indicator led which is absent from the older model.

Is the cable coming from the plug flexible or stiff/moulded? The socket is in the skirting board and the is not much room. Thanks

The power cable coming out of the plug is fairly thick because it carries a fair amount of current but it is quite flexible. I cannot say whether it would suit your particular needs, for sure but I have a similarly cramped set up and it is plenty flexible enough for my set up. Hope this helps. I am fairly confident it would be fine.
