Question 1

Can this be used for water propagation?

Accepted Answer

I woild think not it is for rootformation by simbiosis. I think the value of it would beclost in hydroponics. I think a more general feed would be necessary. Only my opinion

Question 2

After mixing the gel solution from the sachet with 8Ls, how much loose granules do Iadd to this? Can left over granules be used later on their own?

Accepted Answer

Hi Leona, the best option is to take a look at the FAQ page on www.rootgrow.co.uk it's got some really good hints and tips. I think the product is well worth using but I do remember that you should only mix up what you need as it does not keep once mixed.Hope that helps Tony

Question 3

Is this suitable for rose cuttings?

Accepted Answer

Are these rose cuttings which you took a few months ago , which have now rooted and you are now wanting to plant out , if so you can use gel as directed on the packs instructions. However if these are new cuttings, then this is not the right material to use, you would need a rooting compound such as Seradix, rose cuttings are best taken in autumn, and put into a free draining gritty rooting medium, making sure they do not dry out. The rooting compound would be one ment for hardwood cuttings. Hope this helps

Question 4

what is the scientific name of this mycorrhizal fungi in this product?

Accepted Answer

The manufacturers do not specify which fungi are used, they state:
Rootgrow contains a mixture of species of UK origin mycorrhizal fungi. These fungi are completely natural and are grown at our production facilities in Kent. rootgrowTM also contains an inert clay carrier which acts as a substrate for the fungi to grow through and a few bio-additives which enhance mycorrhizal colonisation.
It is very effective hence the reason why large numbers of commercial growers and the RHS use it
