Fate/Zero concludes
This second set of the 'Fate/Zero' anime includes the final twelve episodes of this brilliant series. The episodes in this set cover all the action from the mass battle against Caster and his giant monster to the final confrontation for the Holy Grail and its aftermath. The plot centuries to be very intriguing and addictive to watch and there are some quite sad moments here and there along with the action. There are also a couple of episodes in this volume that reveal Kiritsugu Emiya's tragic background and his motivations. The series manages to The episodes here finally reveal the true identity of Berserker and the final episode of the series also sees a cameo by Shiro Emiya. The animation of the series remains brilliant (although there were some issues with Kariya Matou's animation in a couple of places) with Saber's first use of Excalibur's full power being particularly beautifully done. The fights in the series continue to be simply spectacular and if anything the ones in this half of the series are even better than those in the first. Of particular note are the aerial battle between Gilgamesh and Berserker, Rider and Saber's race along a deserted road and the final confrontation between Kiritsugu and Kirei Kotomine, all of which have a place in my list of all-time favourite anime fights. The development of the characters and their relationships also continues to be very well done throughout this final half of the series with Rider and Waver's relationship still being one of the best parts of the show in this respect. Kirei's continuing development as a character also continues to be done nicely as we see him develop into the character from the original series. The English voice cast remain as good as they were in the first half of the series (the Japanese is included as well of course). Of the new characters in this half of the series (mostly in Kiritsugu's backstory), the brilliant Wendee Lee does a typically great job as Natalia Kaminski is easily the best but Mona Marshall does a reasonably good job as a young Shiro.Unfortunately the only special features this set includes are clean versions of the opening and ending songs (both of which are very good and a bit sad when you know what is coming).Overall 'Fate/Zero' is an extremely good series that is well worth a full five stars and is easily one of the best series I have ever watched. In the Autumn 2014 season a new 'Fate/stay night' series bill begin airing and I cannot wait for it to be released after watching this prequel once again.

Fate/Zero part two
This is a continuation of my review of the first part of the series. This contains episodes fourteen-twenty five...Rider suggests to use his reality marble (his noble phantasm) against the creature Caster summoned. Theres also a second battle about to happen, Archer & Berserker are having an aerial assault which the two are evenly matched however Berserker shoots his attention towards Saber what will happen? Plans are being made to take down Caster between the masters & servants and Kiritsugu suggests that Saber to use her noble phantasm on Caster implying her power can take down forts. While Caster is inside the creature he has a vision of Jeanne (shes from Fate/apocrypha & grand order, if I recall correctly) I wont comment further on this part of the story otherwise it will be spoilers... Instead I`ll comment on some of the backstory (of Kiritsugu) which is very intriguing, this should be spoiler free aswell so fret not. Episodes eighteen-nineteen shows a younger Kiritsugu, talking to a girl called Shirley who happens to be going to his house, His father is conducting research on immortality by using plants his father says to him not to go into the town because somebody went into his lab however Kiritsugu ignores this, he finds Shirley doing the unthinkable... As the events go on the island burns Kiritsugu emotionally broken he escapes with a woman called Natalia which she trains him to be a mercenary as time passes he thinks of her as a mother.Back to the present day of the story, going to episode twenty five Kiritsugu uses his command spells to force Saber doing the unthinkable after the events that followed, the city was half destroyed he finds the sole survivor Shirō who he adopts and he later becomes the main protagonist to Fate/stay night... On a shining night Kiritsugu says to his son that he wants to become a hero but he knows he cant so instead Shirō will carry on his wish.So thats my review I hoped you enjoyed reading this, it was an excellent ending it didnt focus on "the hero unlike Unlimted blade works" Personally I liked this far more than I did with Fate/stay night unlimited blade works pick up this second part its very thrilling to the audience... as I said before in my other reviews Watch:fate/stay night (First route)fate/stay night unlimited blade works (second route)Then fate zeroAnd when it gets releasedfate/stay night heavens feel (third route)

Has to be one of the best anime ever made
Has to be one of the best anime ever made. Fate Zero puts the original fate stay night anime to shame and creates a very endearing cast of characters that have brilliant action scenes, depth, development and discussion. We see a war for a holy grail that is very focused and smartly done as it is set between masters and servants so cuts out the large scale (and often cheesy) over the top 10,000 man wars that leads you to watch a lot of people you never cared about die and instead focus on making you care about each character.I won't say too much but if you like the idea of heroes of old having an anime flair and being brought back to fight by the magi chosen by the holy grail to have a chance to get there wish come true then this could be for you. Featuring some great production values, epic fights, great characters and nice progression it really does set itself apart from a lot of other series.
