Great Socks for Hiking
These are great socks, very warm and comfortable. I wear them with hiking boots and they are good for all day long wear. Also, 80% wool means moisture control is well handled, which adds considerably to the comfort. Great price too - 3 pair for less than the price of one pair of similar type socks and are at the very least as comfortable and warm.

A good alternative.
I suppose it's the modern online way but every time I find a comfortable sock brand they seem to become rapidly unavailable. Thick merino wool socks are my preferred choice, for work (outdoors) & everyday wear, across all seasons. In my opinion Kingland were the best, so obviously they're no longer easy to find in the Medium size. I then tried the D G Hill equivalent which were approaching the same standard, if a little less finessed. Next time I tried to buy those, what do you know - ''Not currently available''. It's a conspiracy! Then the next ones that come up are these Vihir 80% merino wool crew socks. Worth a try I thought & more or less a comparable price to the previous brands. My first impression on trying them on was that the toe seam seemed a little bulky & threatened to cause irritation to the toes, but having washed them for a first time this appears not to be a problem, even if it does sit further towards the end of the foot. They fit pretty well & I expect they'll tighten up with further washes. They seem warm but I'm not totally convinced by the 80% wool claim, I suspect that there may be a higher synthetic fibre content in them than is shown as they tend to feel sweatier than the other brands. However, I'm pretty pleased with them & will probably buy them again as they're warm, soft & comfortable, and at the moment, available.

Alternative to Red Wing Merino sock
I'm a big fan of the Red Wing merino socks which, on paper, have a very similar wool content to these. But at £20 a pair, I can't really justify buying too many. So I'd thought I'd try these as an alternative. They're certainly not as good as the red wing socks. These ones feel a lot more synthetic despite having a very similar content mix, but having washed and worn them 5 or 6 times, they're holding up perfectly well. They're comfortable and warm and work well as an all-day boot sock. They offer great value for money.

Great socks
Very thick and warm, I’ve been using to break in a new pair of leather boots, no more blisters

Woollen socks
Absolutely brilliant very warm and comfortable. No odour at all and can be washed on a regular cycle without shrinking. Bought some more and will buy again in the future.

Excellent
They wash and wear really well. They're warmer and cheaper than the socks I've bought previously on the high street.

Not incredible, but good enough.
While they aren't your typical hiking merino socks, these are pretty thick (better for winter). So far, I've been using them for over a year, and I have to admit that they do their job. The cushioning and size are fine and as expected
