Wild ride
The action doesn’t stop. The story isn’t shallow, but it’s not so deep as to lose the reader in too much lore. Well written and enjoyable just like all the books before it.

good read
Great series. I had set this book aside for other releases about halfway through. I really do love this series it’s just a little long winded. Gets a bit boring and confusing with all the going on.

Book writing skills - EPIC
It's rare that a series gets better with each book. It's far more common that book one is amazing and new and fresh, but by book 5 the author has left any semblance of character development or growth behind, sometimes they leave plot arcs behind. This is not one of those series, there is real development, new characters that matter, even characters I thought inconsequential make follow up appearances and they actually feed into the story and enhance the book (Mervin)! I'm impressed and thrilled, still waiting on Felix to make a move on you know who, but everyone has been kind of busy, so I'm not going nit pick. I have to shout out, the way the last epic fights were incorporated from multiple POVs - so so well done! I couldn't put this one down and like a handful of series I've ever read I look forward to not only future books, but rereading this one.

Appropriately Stressful
It can be a pretty big flaw in a book like this, where the MC keeps getting strong and stronger, to either have them easily defeat every challenger, staying enough overpowered to be ready to destroy each new obstacle OR trying to avoid such smooth sailing to have arbitrary and complete setbacks that add as much irritation as they do tension. While there has been a little of that in this series (looking at you, book 2), this fourth entry is appropriately stressful throughout. Which is a hard thing to do when you are knowingly reading book 4 of 12.

excellent
Excellent writing, excellent creativity, excellent series! Looking forward to completing this entire series. I appreciate the more advanced vocabulary as well. I’ve added many new words to my vocabulary reading Nicoli’s books!

Melts Faces
I've Tempered my Mind Aspect's Reading for Pleasure skill into Adept Tier with this story.Mr. Gonnella's stories will melt your face. In a good way. The actual writing has improved with each book. He's very good. You might pick up some vocabulary words. His action scenes, which span hundreds of pages, are the best I've ever read in any genre. He cranks it up to 11, snaps off the knob, then adds another amplifier. If he were a guitarist, he'd play heavier than Meshuggah. The action is so dense than using my eye muscles to move down the page improved my physical fitness. It's a good story. You should read it.

I like the author
The series is good, and I really like the author, all the books I've rated 5*, but this one is my least favorite, as the second 2/3rds is just one long fight scene. It's a bit tedious. If you want to write a screen play, then do it, but a stream of disjointed skills, bouncing from one point of view to the next, literally without finishing sentences is just an ADHD nightmare, and doesn't make for a good novel. But Im hoping the next book is more adventure and less monotonous battles.
