A: We designed the two holes. The first is to create a minor groove to reduce the back clip protrusion, to improve the comfort of the handle; the second is to reduce the weight; the third is to see the internal material structure.

Nice knife. Sharp out of the package. The bearing is super smooth and frictionless. Well made. The aluminum handle,while textured is a little bit is slippery. Micarta would be better. The blade is an actual layered Damascus where you can feel the layers, not laser etched. I have other VG10 blades so it should hold an edge well but have not put it through it's paces. Pocket clip is heavy duty. Overall a great product for the price.
