Yes of course!! I use it when doing that and it makes my hair feel amazing and defines my curls really well. I have 3b/C 4a curls.

Would you recommend this for an oil treatment? What about a prepoo??

Yes, it’s PERFECT for a hot oil treatment. Put the oil in a heat-safe plastic bottle or glass container, and then place the container in a pot of hot water for a few minutes. Once it's warm, apply the oil to your scalp and hair from root to tip.

Will this help with irritated scalp?

I don't know about irritated scalp but the mint component in it does help soothe the scalp. It sort of has a tingling sensation to it. Hope this helps.
