It worked straight out of the box and required no set-up. However there are all sorts of settings in the menus to let you fine-tune the monitor to your needs. The reason its not a 5* review is I couldn't plug it in! The EU plug doesn't work in the UK without an adaptor, and for some reason the UK plug included had a different connector compared to the power socket on the back of the monitor.
