One Minute Overview- Improve your shower knowledge Electric Showers Electric Showers require cold water only which is heated instantly to provide a hot shower. - An electric shower only heats the water you use once the shower is switched on. It does not use the hot water heated or stored by the household water system - An electric shower is always ready to use 24 hours a day seven days a week Mixer Showers Mixer showers require hot and cold water which is 'mixed' together to provide a hot shower. - Mixer showers use the hot water heated by the household water system - Generally produce higher flow rates compared to electric showers - Mixer showers must be matched to your household water system. High pressure systems such as combi boilers, are ideal for mixer showers -Add a pump on a low pressure systems to to boost water flow rates Power Showers Power showers require hot and cold water which is 'mixed' together and the built in pump increases water flow, to provide a hot shower. -Power showers are made for use on low pressure systems only. An internal pump increases the flow of water to provide a powerful shower - Power showers are not to be confused with electric showers as they do not heat water -Generally produce higher flow rates than electric showers and many mixer showers Gravity fed hot water system This system has a cold water tank in the loft or in the top of the airing cupboard and a hot water cylinder below it. The water in the cylinder is heated by a boiler or an electric immersion heater and fed to taps via a pipe from the top of the cylinder. As the hot water in the cylinder is used up, it is replaced with cold water from the tank above, which in turn is refilled from the mains water supply via a float operated valve. System water pressure is usually low. To give a higher pressure and flow rate from a mixer shower a booster pump can be installed. Gravity fed hot water system with Booster Pump This system has a cold water tank in the loft or in the top of the airing cupboard and a hot water cylinder below it. System water pressure is increased due to the addition of a Booster Pump. Unvented System An unvented system has a hot water cylinder that is connected directly to the mains cold water supply and there is no need for a cold water tank in the home. The water is heated by a boiler or an electric immersion heater. As everything is under the pressure of mains water, the flow rates from taps and showers are much better and a pump is not needed to get a powerful shower. An unvented cylinder can be installed virtually anywhere e.g. in an airing cupboard or garage. Combination Boiler A combi - boiler can be located anywhere within the home. More often wall mounted but some are floor mounted. It heats water ‘on demand’ when a hot tap or mixer shower is turned on. Connected directly to the mains cold water supply at high pressure there is no need for a hot water cylinder, cold water tank or shower pump in the home.

Review: Perfect replacement for our old Triton T70i - Amazing how much you learn when you research a purchase on desertcart - so this review is an attempt to give back so to speak. We had an old Triton T70i shower which suddenly stopped passing water (sorry) and some online research identified that this was probably a failed solenoid, £15 to replace on the auction site that shall remain nameless. Or I could buy the Seville for £52. Since our T70i was 14 years old and used daily it was worth splashing out (sorry) on a new one. My decision was assisted by the fact that desertcart were offering a box-damaged one for £42. Received today on Prime delivery, and true to their word, it was just the box that was damaged, the shower unit is brand new and I was able to register the guarantee. It has taken me around 2 hours to install (half of which was spent undoing the compression joint on the old shower) and we now have a shower again, thank goodness. Some key points that may be helpful. a. The old T70i came in 7KW and 8KW variants. If you have the 7KW model, your wiring will probably be 6mm and your breaker 32A. Any replacement more powerful than 7.5KW requires 10mm wiring and 45A breaker. I could see my way to a new breaker, but not new wiring, so had to buy a 7.5KW shower b. Seville seems to be the only Triton available in low wattage AND this kit is very good value. The shower head bundled with the Seville alone costs £20 to buy separately and is far nicer than our old one. Lower wattage means lower energy bills so don't hanker after the 8.5KW-10.5KW models. The water flow on our new Seville is fine and hot, it seems a bit better than the T70i, I guess the extra 0.5KW makes a difference. c. The Seville unit footprint is a good match for the T70i except the top and bottom are curved rather than square, and the lower securing screw needs a new hole in the wall. The upper wall screw and the pipe connection are in the same place. I didn't even have to cut the mains wire like some other reviewers, was able to loop it and squash down under the cover. d. I did not try and fit the riser rail bundled with the Seville, from reading other reviews the fixing points might not be an exact match which is a bore. The hose fittings are standard so I was able to use my old riser rail and bracket with the new head, problem solved. e. You will need a new compression olive for the pipe connector, a wall plug for the new hole, and possibly a new compression nut if you mangle the old one like I did. Everything else in the box. This is not a trendy shower but it does the job with competence and is fantastic value. Well done Triton for making the old T70i so reliable, and for making the Seville low cost and backward compatible. Well done desertcart for accurate descriptions, excellent value and speedy delivery. Good luck....
Review: Easy to fit replacement for previous Triton shower - This was bought as a replacment for our old Triton T80si shower which finally broke after many years. We did have a look to see if it would have been possible to repair, but after looking online at the cost of replacement parts, it didn't seem worth paying £50 for parts that might not have been correct. Like other reviewers, because of the cabling we had to have a 7.5kW shower and not many places seem to sell them now. Even buying from Triton direct they had very little choice in 7.5kW and they were more expensive than the Seville. The free desertcart Prime trial meant we got free next day delivery too. It took my mum and I about 2 and a half hours to fit, and the most diffcult part was probably taking off the old shower. It turned out we were trying to unscrew the nut on the water inlet pipe the wrong way! Luckily we could use the old screw holes from the previous shower unit, so there was no need to drill any extra holes. We kept the old riser rail so we didn't have to drill any holes for that either. The box included rawl plugs and screws for the riser rail but not for the shower unit, but as we didn't need to drill any extra holes for the shower unit this was ok, we just reused the old screws. If you're drilling new holes you'll need rawl plugs and possibly screws. You will also need a new nut and olive for the water inlet pipe, which we got from our local plumbers merchant. After securing the new unit to the wall and turning on the water to test for leaks, we turned the power back on. The fitting instructions said to make sure the controls were aligned, which we discovered meant the on/off control needed to be in the 'stop' position on both the front cover and on the unit. When we turned the power back on, the shower came on straight away as the unit control was 'on', we had to turn it off and change the button on the unit. The fitting videos on the Triton website (http://www.tritonshowers.co.uk/triton-for-the-homeowner/triton-products/product-videos.aspx) came in useful for making sure we were doing everything in the correct order. The videos aren't specifically about the Seville but the basic steps are the same. The shower head supplied with the Seville is definitely an improvement on our old one, it's lighter and has five different flow settings. The shower itself is good, and very similar to the old Triton shower it replaced. If anyone is unsure about fitting it themselves, I'd say give it a go, it was easier and quicker than we thought it would be. I've never fitted a shower before and the only plumbing my mum has done is to fix a leaky toilet so between us we don't have much experience and we managed it.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Can a Triton Seville 9.5 kw showere easily replace a Triton Opal 9.5 shower?**
A: Not sure what the set up for the opal is but obviously you can handle a 9.5 as you've had it before. In terms of the plumbing, the Seville has a few different points of entry so there's a really good chance it'll suit. I know the Seville is designed to be an ideal replacement shower as it can work on a few different set ups. I replaced a 9.5 mira shower and the seville was no problem at all. Can't say 100% but I'd be confident. Check the reviews. Bound to find one that'll confirm it for you. As you're replacing a triton I'd be surprised if it won't. The Seville is for mains fed systems. Just so you know. Mine is in a few months now and thankfully it's been excellent so far. Good luck.

**Q: Is 6mm cable large enough for this 10.5 kW shower**
A: A 6mm cable will overheat with a 10.5kw shower, with possible fire risk. You must use a 10mm cable and a suitably rated circuit breaker (MCB)(usually 50 amp) with a residual current device (RCD). If you are unsure of the wiring you have currently installed, consult a qualified electrician. There are various online blogs which also offer advice.

**Q: My water pressure is high when I run cold, when I run hot it does slow, is this my old shower or my water pressure?**
A: I have just purchased the triton seville 10.5kw shower, which I find very good. I wouldn't say I have exceptional water pressure here, but it works very satisfactory. In the manual it says that increase in the shower temperature will decrease the flow of water through the shower making it warmer. Likewise if you decrease the temperature it will increase the flow of water. Hope this is useful info for you.

**Q: is it compatible with a combi boiler home?**
A: We have a combi boiler which feeds the downstairs shower & the Triton electric unit in the upstairs shower, everything works well providing you maintain mains water pressure.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Triton Shower.
*by G***F on 29 July 2026*

Very good value. Easy to adjust heat control. Easy to use and seems durable. The only complaint is the shower head spray pattern isn't on mine as advertised. It should be and I have emailed Triton but they have not responded!
