I would really recommend this product. DMT diamond sharpeners are amongst the best and this guided system is a joy to use and so simple. Personally I think there is no comparison between this and the Lansky, this wins hands down. Have sharpened s30v, s90v and some old communist era spanner steel made in to a blade and all to hair popping levels. For the price and simplicity of use this is a no brainer.

Just wish they lasted a bit longer before the diamonds wear out, not cheap for how long they last

3 Micron diamond stone looked coarser than the 25 micron with the amount of scratches in it. Clearly been used, but bought new. Zero customer service from Amazon US and Amazon UK, only option is to return it to US!!! or accept the rubbish. Zero compensation, not a care given.

The first kit I received was not sealed in any way. I opened it up, and several of the sharpening stones were scraped up. Clearly the kit had been used, and I had ordered a new kit (not used). So I returned that kit and asked to have a new one shipped to me. The next kit arrived and the handle was sealed with a zip tie. I opened it up, and this kit seemed to indeed be brand new. Now that a had a new kit, I used it to sharpen a 2.5" long x 1/2" wide Swiss Army knife blade. I started with a setting of 7, but that won't work on a 1/2" blade (even though the instructions say it should). The stones will scrape the blade clamp part of the guide before contacting the blade. So I switched to a setting of 6, which should give an angle of 21 degrees on a 1/2" blade. This ended up being the perfect angle for that blade. I was able to achieve a sharp and even edge, of which I am very satisfied. It is sharper than when it was new, I am sure of that. I am not experienced with sharpening knives, so I found the guide very helpful in achieving the angle I wanted. Trying to get a 20 degree angle by free handing it would have been very difficult for me. Despite getting a used kit at first and one issue with the instructions, I'm giving this 5 stars. Mainly because I was so successful at sharpening.

Bought this apparently new DMT set and received either a sub-par unit with scratches and corrosion on the diamond stone, or it just as used and returned by someone then shipped to me as new. Either way I’m not happy with it. Pink side has corrosion and the green side (flip side of pink) has scratches. One star. Expected this to be new (or good quality) for the price I paid.

I bought this to sharpen my spyderco with s110v steel. Works really good on that tough to sharpen steel. Only thing is that it's a little awkward to hold and sharpening angles are kind of approximate but regardless it sharpened that s110v to hair popping sharp. Great value for the money!!!

Excelente pedras para afiar facas e demais ferramentas de corte. A guia é um pouco frouxa, requer um pouco de experiência. Após algumas vezes, acostumei a prender a faca pela lâmina, por exemplo em uma morsa de bancada ou com um grampo de aperto em uma mesa, e a movimentar a guia com a pedra montada. O resultado fica perfeito e não corre risco de destemperar o metal da lâmina. Não requer lubrificação durante a afiação. Após usar cada pedra de diamante, faço a limpeza com um pano e álcool, a fim de que sempre estejam limpas para a próxima vez.
