Many uses and applications, good value for money but watch out for the fumes.
This stuff is pretty great, I bought it about 8 months ago and use it often and for many things and I still have about 20% left, its definitely great value for money, another benefit is you can add water to dilute it if for some reason 99% is too concentrated or strong. - The good: 1. Sterilising, as far as I understand it will kill germs as long as you allow it to dry and evaporate on its own which it doesn't take long, between a few seconds and a few minutes depending on how you use, best to not use a cloth. 2. Cleaning, I've used it so far to clean off dirt, dust, permanent marker, ink, smudgy fingerprints, leftover sticky residue (from tape, stickers etc), oil and even light rust (it can't 'fix' rust, but it can clean off the worst of it, if wanted), I've used it for many more things but I think the current list is long enough to get the general idea. 3. Cheap, it's seriously good value, I use it very, very often and still have some left, I think it's amusing that when I first got it I thought 1 litre was far too much for what I needed and it would never get used. 4. Safety-cap, I suppose it is worth mentioning the cap is a safety cap, you need to apply downward pressure and turn to open it, but really... if you have kids you should make sure they never get their hands on it anyway. 5. Repairs, well not so much repairs but it is suitable for PC work and hardware, I messed up a thermal paste application to an AMD CPU once and got it on the pins, I poured a small amount of the alcohol into a shallow plastic tub and put the CPU in pin-side down, gently shaked it for about 2 minutes and then removed it, I then got another tub and filled it with fresh clean alcohol, placed the CPU in again to clean it off and then allowed it to air dry, thankfully the CPU worked fine after I installed it, however please do not take what I've said for granted, maybe I got lucky as I only did the alcohol bath as a last resort and the gold plating is permanently discoloured but seems to be working fine nonetheless. The bad: 1. Fumes, probably to be expected at 99.9% pure but the fumes are pretty damn strong, if you keep about a metre away you probably won't smell it but if you have to work very near it, like when it's been applied to a facial pad to clean something, you may want to try holding your breath and turn your head away from it to take a breath, I'm not kidding, it really is that strong.

An effective and safe cleaner and degreaser
The bottle of Isopropanol was delivered promptly and was intact without any damage. It comes with a childproof cap which was easy to remove by pressing down whilst unscrewing. I used it to clean a mirror and I'm confident that it is pure because it didn't leave any trace of a deposit or film. I bought it for cleaning glass and degreasing a wide variety of surfaces and for this it is excellent. Please note that one reviewer claimed the bottle does not contain a full 1 litre and included a picture showing that it only weighed 824 grams, including the bottle. However, Isopropanol does not weigh as much as water and 1 litre of isopropanol will only weigh 785 grams, not 1000 grams like water would. I weighed the 1 litre that I received and including the plastic bottle it weighed 838 grams so I'm quite sure I did actually receive a full 1 litre. Isopropanol is a fairly safe solvent to use on most plastics but will effectively dissolve oil and grease and stick residues left by some labels. Some reviewers have mentioned using it to remove nail (polish) but the proprietary products that you buy for this contain acetone, which is not the same as isopropanol. Acetone will melt some plastics. Note that whilst it is safe to use on most surfaces it is flammable. When rating I was prompted to award a star rating for adhesion and scent. I've rated them as 5 although it is not a glue so doesn't actually adhere to anything and it smells like isopropanol should which isn't unpleasant but not the scent you would want like perfume.

Great for cleaning but very strong fumes
I bought this as a non-smelly alternative to the usual kitchen surface cleaners, which leave a strong lingering smell in the whole apartment. It works very well. I dilute it three parts water to one part alcohol, which makes it very economical. You realy have to avoid the fumes as they make your head spin. Having said that, this is easily done and you simply avoid keeping your head close to the surface being cleaned and try not to breathe in the fumes. Same principle as tanking your car up. The fumes are certainly there but you have the choice as to whether or not you breathe them. Obviously don't use it with young children or pets in the room... It's great for cleaning and disinfecting: - baby chair and table - work surfaces - cutting boards - door handles, light switches etc. - taps, cupboard doors and handles, sinks and anywhere that you want to be sterile Once the job is done, there is ZERO lingering smell or residue, which is why I bought the product in the first place. It does the job very well and I would rate this product well over the usual smelly and expensive kitchen cleaners.

Brilliant stuff
I bought this having had some issues airbrushing acrylic paints. Thinning with a proprietary thinner wasn't giving me the results I expected, so after some research on the internet I found several references to making thinners at home from Isopropyl Alcohol (IPA), water, acrylic drying retarder and acrylic flow improver. This has worked perfectly for me, and is also brilliant for cleanup of the airbrush at the end of a session. As with most chemicals, care has to be taken when using it - I always wear a good quality mask and an airbrush cleaning station to catch most of the nasties when running the IPA through afterwards. Best of all, compared to proprietary thinners, this works out incredibly cheap to use and in my view works much better. It even got an old De Vilbiss airbrush that had been left full of congealed paint as clean as a whistle and spraying well again, where ordinary thinners had failed to make any difference. Add in the fact that it's a brilliant cleaner for so many things and I know I'll be a regular purchaser.

Nearly perfect.
It arrived next day. It wasn't packed very well, just a minimal bit of paper stuffed in the box. Luckily enough it survived the journey with no leakage. My only small complaint is it leaves a small amount of residue when it evaporates. The residue can easily be wiped off to leave a clean smear free surface. This might not be ideal if you are using it to clean a processor before applying thermal paste as the surface should be totally clean and dust free. Using a cloth to wipe off the residues could reintroduce dust or small fibres to the surface of the processor.

Great for cleaning electronic components
My primary need for this was to clean old electronics and computer components, but I also dabble in model making, so I was happy to go for the highest alcohol variant I could get. I'm really happy with it, and even though I've been using it for months, I'm not halfway through the bottle yet. It's a good, sturdy bottle too -- really important if you don't always practice good desk discipline, and sometimes knock things over (I'm admitting nothing here...). The smell is not too unpleasant, but really you'll want a well-ventilated area to use this in, as if you leave the bottle open you're going to get a headache and maybe lose a few brain cells. My only wish was that I could stock up on a little more, which I don't really advise at the moment -- when I bought it in October 2019, it was under ยฃ8, but looking at the price today I can see there's a hefty 50% extra on top of that. I'm not going to knock any stars off, because what I paid when I bought it is a very fair price, but I might not be as kind if I bought it today.

the perfect head cleaner
I used this for cleaning an old cassette deck and VHS player, cassette deck: it improved the quality massively and brought back the high frequencies in the cassette, also improves signal to noise ratio and will help your machine to last longer. My cassette deck is a Technics M222 from 1982 and had NEVER been cleaned since getting this, it's my dads old tape deck and he said after cleaning it he said sounded better than when it was brand new! luckily it was worth salvaging as it uses MX heads and is all metal much higher quality than modern decks. I used this product with LOTS of cotton buds, can recommend cleaning the pinch roller at least 3-4 times...that was where most of the crap came from. I went through over 10 cotton buds for the whole process. VHS: I cleaned only the places where the tape passes through, e.g capistans, pinch roller etc. you must NEVER touch the drum with the 4 heads in with cotton buds, always use paper eg a business card (dipped in alcohol) instead... after cleaning the picture quality is now superb, with no flickering and improved sound and visual quality. I can watch videos again and enjoy them as if they are new. other uses have been to remove gunk and crap off things when nothing else works, for example on my mouse the sweat eventually creates this solid slime stuff that isopropyl alchohol just melts through...like a boss!

Cheap and extremely useful
I use this all around the home, mainly to gut through grime. It is extremely good at removing gunk, grime and residue from most surfaces (I wouldn't recommend you to use it on walls as it can damage the paint and remove the sheen). I have used it to remove sticker residue on a multitude of things, removing grease from a cooker extractor fan, removing thermal paste off of a CPU, clean door handles and remove spray paint from skin. I know it can do much more, but everything it has worked flawlessly for everything I have used it for. It is also very volatile (evaporates quickly), and doesn't leave any residue. However, do be careful - it is a solvent and hence you should avoid breathing in its fumes and it also dries up skin quickly so use gloves when using it. Overall, a great product at a great price (one of the cheapest 99% 1 litres) that is a handy aid in and around the house
