Basics to Brilliance

Wonderful book that does exactly what it says on the cover. Recipes start as basic and then further recipes change the dish into something more adventurous. Bought it as a first cook book for a friend who has been able to easily follow the menus and my son, who really enjoys cooking, found different ways to present the same food. Highly recommended.

This is my favourite cookbook of all time, it's beautifully presented and makes for a fantastic gift. It teaches you how to make one staple and then provides 3 or 4 other recipes that the staple would go in. I've made so many of the recipes and absolutely love them!

What can I say..? I am an avid user and ‘collector’ of all manor of Cook books I need another one of these books for the coffee table as I know the first one will be splattered with all manor of ingredients The photography and illustrations are real super quality The recipes are very well written and will be a very treasured gift for any ‘foodie’ fan. This book simply rocks and will be a ‘classic’ within a few months must have Cook book I have to be honest and say I haven’t made any of the recipes simply because there are so many choices It’s really well presented and I urge you all to snap up a copy ASAP it really will be treasured by any future owner...! The best features; Concise Clear Enticing and practical The glossary and basics / temp n measures are succinct and well written My fav looking recipes; The Thai green curry Chewy chic chip cookies Lemon n blueberry layer cake I’ll be cracking on with those this weekend

Good recipes, good photos, I like it.

This is an amazing cook book for many reasons. First of all it looks amazing and is very easy to use as well as enjoyable to simply look at and read. It's great for beginners as well as having great ideas for confident cooks! Just buy it! Oh and there is a great TV show based on the book.

I know this is supposed to be a book aimed at kids but it brilliantly laid out and contains really lovely recipes that anyone would like. Discovered Donna Hay books on a recent holiday to NZ where they are very popular.

I love this book! It is very healthy using very little sugar mainly dates for sweeteners, and I think some of the recipes are definitely for Australia’s food market. That said it is a great book for kids as really does present well and provide inspiration for them.

Use this with my 5 year old, plenty for her to do but also loads to grow in to. Same principle as the grown up version, one recipe with multiple ways to pimp it up.

That I received it

When a new cookbook arrives I like to sit with a cup of coffee and page through. I am only half way through this book and Holy Cow! Disclaimer: Obviously, I have not cooked a recipe from this book, however, I plan on cooking my way through the entire book. This is a beautiful book, if for the photos alone. It is photographed so well, the pages jump out at you. The recipes are so doable. Each recipe plays out with variations of the star recipe. This truly a work of art!

El libro es una maravilla, las recetas estan explicadas de forma clara y concisa. Si has visto la serie reconoceras muchas recetas. Llego muy bien empaquetado, en perfecto estado.

Gave this to our 8 year olds who had started to show interest in helping with cooking, and it has been great. They have taken the lead in making several dinners, snacks etc. The meals are tasty and mostly quite healthy, it's easy to follow and looks sharp.
