Being of an advancing age, I decided to give my hair one last chance before accepting my fate. It’s grey, thinning on the crown, and features several bald patches that have recently become more “prominent” than I’d like to admit. The plan was simple: take the edge off the greyness. Nothing drastic. Just a gentle muting of the silver. To minimise mess (and, in hindsight, to maximise tragedy), I applied the dye while sitting in the bath. The instructions said 5 minutes. I thought I’d go for slightly less. Unfortunately, I nodded off. I was woken 45 minutes later by my wife, who could barely speak through the laughter. My hair is now jet black. Not “natural dark,” not “revitalised,” but pitch black - a colour normally reserved for grand pianos and volcanic glass. This would have been merely startling, but my hair is naturally so dry that I usually put a bit of grease on top. This now creates a dramatic, high-contrast effect: deep black hair sitting proudly above bald patches that gleam like freshly polished marble. I have been informed multiple times, and without mercy that I now resemble an ageing Italian football coach. On the plus side, the product definitely works. Five stars. It has taken years off my hair colour.

Works great

I’ve been using Just For Men Hair Dye for a while now, and it’s a great product overall. The results last around 4 to 6 weeks before I need to reapply, which I think is a decent amount of time. It’s easy to use, with clear instructions, and simple to apply using the gloves provided. That said, I think it could be improved if it came with a hair applicator, like the one I’ve kept from another brand I used before (shown in photo). The applicator makes it much easier to apply the dye evenly, compared to just rubbing it in with gloves. (Hence one star deducted from this review). Other than that small suggestion, I highly recommend this product. It’s good quality, works as advertised, and is reasonably priced. Definitely worth trying!

I admit it, I am a young lady, not a man and I still used this product. But omg this is the best brown hair dye I’ve used ever; and I’ve used literally every brand you can think of. This one manages to cover all my little ginger baby hairs at the front of my head which no other brand is able to fully do, so I believe it’d also work on grey hair. It doesn’t turn a weird green/orange/red colour overtime when you wash your hair which is hard to find surprisingly. It develops so fast, only in 5 minutes, I have long hair and I only dyed my roots and still had some leftover to drag some dye over the rest of my hair. As I have a lot of hair I left it in for way over 5 minutes (like 30 probably) and my hair didn’t fall out which is always a plus. With other hair dyes I’ve used, when I wash my hair, the water turns brown from the colour being washed out with each wash, but this dye omg it literally barely happens. I will say it does make my hair feel a bit dry after it’s freshly dyed which I don’t have with other brands, even when I’ve left those brands on for way longer than instructed, but I’ll give benefit of the doubt and say this is probably because I left it on for more than 5 minutes. It’s good and covered the greys quickly. but was a bit darker and less natural looking than I anticipated. I expected it to target the greys, but it just dyed all the hair dark brown. Should have possibly used the medium brown. As someone else has said, best to go to the lighter shade if you’re unsure. It still looks decent and is probably the right colour to match my hair, but there’s a chestnut hue in the light which isn’t very natural.

Always turn to back not dark brown

I have been using this hair colour for years now. BACKGROUND! My hair started greying and from a very young age as a result of disease that runs in my family on my father side. As a result I have been dying my hair for last 15 years. During that time I used many main stream brands. Some of them were great but then eventually stop working for me while others caused severe health issues especially for skin and allergic reasons too. Around 6 years ago I stumbled on "Just For Men” when I was in search for a colour which wouldn’t cause all the health issue and something that was long lasting. I strated using JFM and found out that it ticks all the boxed. It is easy to apply and can be washed after 5/10 minutes. You can leave it for longer if you require strong colour, the longer you leave it the darker the colour. HOW TO USE FOR! It’s easy to mix and is ready within a matter of few. One thing I must stress is that please stick with the mixing amount stated on the leaflet that comes within the box. Use the gloves when mixing and applying as it will stain your hands which does come off but takes some cleaning to do (use white spirit). I personally use use vaseline on the skin to protect any stains getting on the skin around my hair whether it’s ears, neckline, forehead etc. *****CAUTION***** PLEASE DO PERFORM A SKIN SENSITIVITY TEST TO AVOID ANY HEALTH ISSUES (Leaftlet explains how to perform it).

My hair normally very hard to dye. Most of the dye, even just won't stay on them. I was wondering why this one is $35 while they are sold for $11 in coles. Now i know why, this dye really blackens your grey hair very well and the color stays for a while, mostly the new grown hairs shows the grey color, otherwise it will last for a while. I do have periodic itching when i use this dye. Where as the cheap ones i buy from coles does not itch on me. I am not sure its the dye that's itching me, i like to hear from other people that. Over all the dye is worth the money.

I have used this item before and it worked well. This time it did not work at all. I had a look at the 1star reviews and noticed similar and some had worse experiences. There must be a quality issue here between products sold. Be very careful. Have reported to Amazon to investigate.
