I'm a much confessed TV and film addict, and as such, I watch TV at odd hours (such are my shifts), even in the early hours of the morning; and as my TV is 12ft away, it calls for some decent headphones with a decent length of cable - not much of a choice nowadays... though you'd think there'd be plenty of choices out there, considering it's supposed to be the Tech age, and all. I've had two pair of these for over 4years now, and on one, there's some cut out beginning to happen... but this is only coz my missus has a nasty habit of yanking the phones out of the TV by the cable!!! :-? But, for the volume and playback, these are very good, and I can lounge very comfortably on my sofa without fear of the cable being pulled from the TV socket! The stereo is very good in them - not excellent, as they're only mid-range h'phones... but well enough not to spoil your enjoyment of the film/programme you're watching...but well enough to block out most sounds outside my house from disturbing me.... and there's no gripes about them,...and hey, they ARE under £15... so you can't expect the top of the range ones (many of which aren't all that!), can you!! Does the job I want it to do, and without the exorbitant price!! :-)

Purchased this as neither my new phone or tablet have a headphone socket. Relatively inexpensive. Fits well over ears. Nice clarity of sound especially when watching films on Netflix. Does what I need it to do

I have an interest in audio like most of us but I am no expert. I'm just spurting out what I think. These headphones are comfortable and have a very long cord so if you can't be bothered to take them off then you can have fun making trip hazards across your room. I think they have a good bodied base however it is unfortunate that the full volume of the headphones doesn't allow you to fully appreciate it. The highs are a slightly too tinny for my liking but I think overall sound quality is good, especially for... the price! The price is amazing and you can hardly go wrong here. These are worth getting incase you like them and it saves you money. If you don't like them then you haven't lost that much at all. Also, there is a very bizarre review of this product all in caps so go have a ponder over that one. Happy headphone shopping!

Found these headphones to be a bit on the tight side and a little uncomfortable when worn for any length of time, the pressure around the the ear cups leave you feeling that you still have them on after you remove them, so using them for a prolonged period, say a 2hr+ film for instance, is not recommended unless you take them off periodically to give your head a rest. Having said that everything else about these headphones is fine, they are well made, the sound is great, especially the bass boost, and the length of the cable is enough for any average size room. Because of the negative comments from the start of this review I would be reluctant to recommend this item.

These Philips SHP2500/10 Hi-Fi Headphones are fantastic for TV watching and home audio. The sound quality is clear and well-balanced, with deep bass and crisp highs. these headphone are amazing for the price, i purchased them in june 2010 and they are still working perfectly. SOUND quality wise comparing these to headphones such as "beats by dr. dre" which come for around £100 to £250 range i was very satisfied, the sound quality is not just good but the bass is also excellent. the cord is very long which may be good or bad depending on what you are looking for but its been an advantage for me as i can sit at any distance from the audio source. The side speaker holders/drums that cover your ears are hollow which i dont like but then it makes the headphone very light and comfortable, they are also very big, not ideal for wearing outside but still very good as they provide a large surface area covering your your ears fully for optimum sound. there also a volume control wheel on the chord which is great, volume is satifactory on the device. overall the product being sold for this price is a bargain, to sum it up these headphones are cheap with great sound qaulity and perfect for indoor use. i even use these in my music studio. 5 stars for the overall quality and price.

Sound quality far worse than the cheapest £1 earbuds from a pound shop. I have used earphones of all sorts of quality, from really good HiFi to rubbish earbuds and these are absolutely the worst I have ever heard. There is no way that the reviews posted reflect reality and you are warned. Even for TV they are inadequate. And they are inefficient, so they are quite quiet - that is, they produce less sound per mV of signal than you would expect. At maximum volume they are just about OK for listening to a program in a quiet room. As for the cans - the headband is cheap and nasty and will break quickly, but, at least when new, the earphones themselves are relatively OK - that is, they sit around the ears and are more comfortable than on-ear phones or buds. The long cable was the reason I ordered them but it would be far better to get a better pair and put an extension in (3.5mm jack one end, 3.5mm female socket at the other). Truly fantastically awful.

These headphones are amazing. The only downside is the very long cable. I'm on my third pair, due to stepping on the cable and ripping it out of the headphones themselves. However my latest pair, which I purchased back in 2010 are still going. I knew I'd had them a while but I didn't realise it was 6 years, THAT'S how great these headphones are. The sound could be louder BUT it has great bass and for it's price I really can't ask for anything more. They are great value for money and these headphones have managed to survive 6 years heavy usage and 5 house moves and are STILL going. And yes, I am writing this review 6 years later, so it is nearly time to replace my current pair, as I noticed the cable has split. But six years an amazing length of any headphones of mine to last, for the extent I use them in.

En général, le casque est très bon. Confortable sur les oreilles. Le seul bémol, le son n'est pas très fort. Même avec le contrôleur du volume au maximum, le son est bas. C'est pour cette raison que j'ai mis un 4 étoiles.

Solid sound quality, comfortable fit. The cord isn't too short or too long. I used it for at least a year in the gym before dropping and breaking them. The break was my fault, not the manufacturers. Overall solid construction and a solid product.

Nulla da dire sono delle ottime cuffie, hanno un cavo lungo, sono comode e ottime nella qualità del suono. La mia esperienza con il prodotto è stata positiva, il prezzo è del tutto economico e sono di buona qualità, li uso in camera da letto per l'ascolto della TV, il sistema di giro completo sull'asse degli auricolari mi permette di usarle dall' esterno, cioè senza mettere l'architetto in testa.
