It has a little safety switch you only need to push in to get the cutter to turn on, after that you can let that little button go. I saw a previous review saying you had to hold it down. You do not.I charged it and was able to cut up a mountain of boxes. It was still going but I ran out of steam. It’s fairly lightweight and cut through the Amazon boxes. It struggled on some of the double walled cardboard but it still cut through it. It’s very easy to use.I highly recommend this product. Especially if you have a fair amount of cardboard and want them smaller and more manageable than just breaking them down.

I bought this to assist with breaking down cardboard in our house and let me tell you it gets the job done! Came with an extra blade and tools to change it. Bonus is it cuts through most materials 6mm thick so plastic, carpet, PVC, cardboard obviously, and fabrics. The tool itself is build well and made nicely. You charge it for use. It does have a safety lock that can be pushed in from either side. This does have to be pushed in or pressed in order to pull the trigger to start cutting. It’s not foolproof as far as safety but it’s a little hard or challenging for a toddler to figure out however I wouldn’t leave it to chance. Great multi l use tool. May purchase as gifts for people this holiday season.

I do not normally make product reviews (selfish as that is) BUT for this product, I'll make one. I purchased this on the hope it would cut a 13' carpet easily enough for me to trim and put it into place. I was MORE than pleased with the performance. The carpet was an older (I presume) indoor outdoor carpet about 1/8" (3mm) thick and it went through it like it wasn't even there.Nice strait cuts, no bogging down of the motors. The blade and guide lifted the carpet from the floor and allowed me to get as straight a cut as I possibly could. Once putting it down I was able to trim the carpet tightly to the wall because of this design.All in all, I HIGHLY recommend this to anyone who is looking for a similar tool/similar purpose.

I had to cut 60 large cardboard circles for a school project. We tried box cutters, scissors, and utility knives to no avail. They wouldn't cut all the way through, and cutting a circle was very tricky and time consuming. Not to mention our hands cramping in the process! I hopped on Amazon and ordered this great little tool and 4 hours later it was on my doorstep! Voila, we cut the cardboard easily and pretty quickly. As you can see in the video it's not a perfect solution, but I think for the price and ease, it was a great tool and so glad we bought it. It is a little bit hard to hold the cardboard and push the tool through it at the same time, but I can't see any way around that. I even let my 12 year old cut and felt that it was safe for him to use. After a while of continuous cutting the blade gets kinda hot, but that's expected and says it's safe to keep using. The battery lasted about 30 minutes of continuous use. You can get a lot done in that amount of time. Just plugged it in to charge again and we were back to cutting. Great tool--saved once again by Amazon!

I bought last May . So this is a 1 year review ! I use this almost Everyday , ALOT !! For Amazon Boxes , And it does An Excellent Job !! Battery life incredible , I only remembering only Charging it Twice in a full year , Crazy ..Blade is still Great Too !! It has been a very Dependable Tool , I highly recommend it !! just so you know I'am Very ruff on my Equipment too !! LOL .

We bought this cutter to cut a low pile indoor carpet. It worked GREAT!! We cut several hundred feet of carpet. It cut it easily, quickly, neatly. I would highly recommend this product.

I really like these electric scissors. They are easy to use and cut a rug pad with ease. I’m sure I will get a lot of use out of them. I’d buy again.

I saw an influencer using one of these and I just had to buy it. Worth every penny. I have carpal tunnel and Hashimoto's, which can cause a lot of hand issues for me. So normally when I break down a box I'd just rip the tape off and fold it. Which does take up less space than throwing a box in whole, but it's not perfect. Being able to easily and safely cut up all of my boxes has been so helpful. All my cardboard recycling can now fit in one of those big reusable shopping bags with room to spare! Such a great purchase.
