Should I wash the toy before I give it to my puppy for the first time?

No you don’t need to wash it. What I always do when I give my dog new toys I always stroke my dog a couple of times with the new toy to put her scent on it before I give her it

how big is it and what size dog would it be appropriate for

The toy is about 8" long and 6" high. It is made of soft but robust material. Our cross breed refuge dog is medium sized, about 20" high and he loves it! Another bonus is that the squeaker is buried deep within the body of the toy which means that whilst we can make it squeak when we play with our dog, he can't chew it noisily whilst we're having some quiet time. Perfect!

what material is it made out of?

Don't waste your money . Our puppy had it in bits after an hour. Buy the Kong Teddy its so much better and indestructible . Hope this helps
