The best dog shampoo we've found.
There are lots of shampoos for dogs with claims that they are all natural, plant-based etc. But when you research the actual ingredients, they aren't always as benign as they first appear. Our dog's wonky immune system has resulted in allergies and skin issues, so it's important that we use as few chemicals and medicated products as possible on her. This 4-Legger organic shampoo fits the bill perfectly, and I've yet to find another that has such quality ingredients, without unecessary additives. It's not a cure for our dog's allergies, it doesn't claim to be, but it's cleansing, calming, gentle on our dog's skin, and leaves her coat in beautiful condition. The gorgeous smell of lemongrass is a bonus. Don't let the fact it's not a thick, gloopy shampoo fool you. That's simply the lack of added "iffy" thickeners. We just add some to warm water in a jug then pour on, lather up and rinse.

Life saver!
My Bichon must have very sensitive skin so grooming causes irritation, but Bichions need to be groomed frequently due to their tight curls! After the last groom she itched and scratched for 3 days solid...nightmare! I bought this product after reading reviews and doing a little research, I wanted to be sure as itโs quite costly, but it was so worth it. She was groomed last week and thereโs been not irritation or pink, hot skin. The groomers even commented on how lovely the shampoo smells. Excellent product, for us definitely worth the gamble.

Smells awesome!
I love this stuff! It smells amazing and a little goes a long way - it foams really well and has cleaned my Pomeranian really well. I really like that it's a natural product and from what I can see doesn't seem to irritate his skin at all. I'd definitely buy again!

Superb Shampoo
This shampoo is amazing. It leaves my dogs coat soft and shiny and smells lovely. It has 100% natural ingredients which is hard to find. I am really pleased with the shampoo.

Excellent. Expensive but worth it for natural ingredients
Excellent. Expensive but worth it for natural ingredients ..,. after first use am so pleased with the effects on my dogs skin and coat. Also hoping the lemon content will help to keep fleas and ticks at bay.

the next day his coat was looking the best it ever has
I can honestly say this makes a difference to my dogs coat- when i used it, the next day his coat was looking the best it ever has, it was so soft and his skin irritations weren't as bad! The effects aren't permanent his itching did come back midway through week two after his wash, but it definitely made a difference in the short term, and anything that helps my poor itch German Shepherd is a plus from me!

Okay, but a bit pricey
It certainly helped in the short term, but the battle against the itch continues. I shall continue to use it, however, on a regular basis.

Paws down - best dog shampoo ever!
Iโd give this shampoo 100 stars if I could! First I love the lemongrass scent. Itโs refreshing especially on my high dander Scottish Terrier. Next, her normally coarse hair came out downy soft. No need to apply any detangling products after bath.Do note that a little shampoo goes a long way! I love how it lathers and then rinses nice and clean. Most importantly, my dog was developing skin bumps on her back, which prompted me to switch shampoos before trotting her off to the vet. Skin bumps are GONE after just the first use. I also like that the product is made in USA!She is so annoyed with me because I canโt keep my hands off her body! Soft, healthy fur, just the way we expect it.Last, thank you to all the people who reviewed this product. You were instrumental in my making this purchase. I thank you and my Scottie, Miss Sally thanks you!

and finally there were those shampoos that smelled worse than mud and muck
I have finally found the shampoo that gets the job done and with two large dogs who swim and joyfully roll in mud and muck on a daily basis. Prior to my discovery, I had gone through many brands. Some were harsh, some didn't foam to my liking, others left a residue, still others dried their skin and dulled their coat, and finally there were those shampoos that smelled worse than mud and muck .... for days on end.I was drawn to this shampoo because of its ingredient simplicity (organic oils of coconut, olive and jojoba, oil blend of rosemary and lemongrass, rosemary extract and aloe vera) and the fact that it is saponified oil soap, which is about as close to natural or organic as one can buy. The directions added a smile: "Shake well before use (the bottle - not the dog)" and in this day and time, the clarification is probably wise. It is further directed to use warm water; given my dogs have an "outdoor shower facility" consisting of a hose attached to a water faucet, they have to settle for cool water (living in South Florida there is no such thing as cold running water). With much anticipated disappointment, I tried 4 Legger Dog shampoo and was astonished and amazed. It foams nicely with only a small amount for each body quadrant needed (despite the instructions to "liberally apply"). I do massage deeply, partly to remove all mud and muck, partly to check their bodies for any lumps, bumps, and hitchhikers, and partly because who doesn't like a deep massage! It rinses out easily and quickly leaving them literally squeaky clean down to their skin. Their coats are left soft and shiny. The fragrance is refreshingly light and clean and lingers on their bodies and on one's hands for about 30 or so minutes; I'm half tempted to buy a bottle for my personal use! Perhaps with more 5 star reviews a 2 Legger Human Shampoo will be available. It should be easy enough by simply crafting an additional label changing the "4" to a "2" and nothing else!Attached are before and after pictures of my one dog. My Giant refused to be photographed, naked, tethered to a pole and tortured (his word, not mine) with organic dog shampoo and water. However, I did manage to covertly video the after 4-Legger after bath euphoria.Bottom line: This is a 5-star worthy shampoo and my dogs are worthy of only the best I can find for them!Cheers!

UPDATED JUNE 2019:: Works great, smells great and now MORE uses than just a dog shampoo!!
I love this shampoo! I wanted to try something that was made using natural products and not chemically induced to rid my dog of fleas. I found this easy to use, but I wish it was a thicker product, its more like a water type of consistency. You can smell the lemongrass in the shampoo, I was a bit worried that the smell might overpower my dog, I mean he has a better sense of smell than I do and I could really smell it. It lathered up well and I did it twice, starting from the head, don't get it in their eyes or nose, and worked my way down to the tail. I rinsed him off and applied it again to be sure that I got every inch of him. He smells great, he has no reaction to it which is what concerned me initially due to the strong smell. But next morning he is doing fine, eating is good and not lethargic at all. He looks, acts and seems like he is content so I would give this product a very good rating. Oh sorry, this is the second shampoo I have given him, I wanted to wait and see if it works and if it affected him adversely. He is fine.4-Legger Certified Organic Dog Shampoo - All Natural and Hypoallergenic with Aloe and Lemongrass, Soothing for Normal, Dry, Itchy or Allergy Sensitive Skin - Biodegradable - Made in USA - 16 ozUpdate June 2019: WAY MORE THAN A SHAMPOO!!My dog is doing absolutely great. NO FLEAS!! BUT we have also found another use for this great product and it has worked for us. We use it in our garden and lawn sprayer to rid and deter fleas and other insects in the yard outside. Simply mix it with water and a few more drops of lemongrass oil and you have a mixture that fleas simply hate. I don;t know if this is a side benefit but the neighborhood has feral cats and the garden bed has been a sort of litter box but NO MORE! I soaked the area and now there are no traces of cat poop or anywhere else in my yard due to frequent spraying of our yard! I love it, it is not poisonous or toxic to kids and pets which always concerned me when I use to spray with actual insecticides. Great product, happy dog and customer!!

Nourishing and moisturizing, organic, and with real essential oils
As a certified canine esthetictian and master groomer, I'm very selective. I love the ingredients in this shampoo. It's very nourishing and moisturizing. It's also very watery, so I don't suggest using it right out of the bottle or you'll lose much of it. You can use a plastic applicator bottle as I do, (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B007OM9W2E/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=3E38GP1ELFSAI&coliid=I2NTXQCRCBNLGD), or a sponge depending on the type of dog you're bathing. A little bit really goes a long way so don't be put off by it's watery consistency. The aroma is very clean and uplifting as there are essential oils in it, not synthetic fragrance. If you don't like synthetic fragrance then you'll love it). So many dogs are sensitive to synthetic fragrance (and of course they have such a powerful sense of smell), so maybe this will keep many dogs from trying to roll in something nasty after their bath!I tried it today on a mini Schnauzer that is always flaky and it did a fantastic job. I also used it on a sheltie that's been itchy and it did a great job there too. On my own dogs (Dutch Shepherds) I mixed it with Reliq Green Tea Shampoo as I do prefer more fragrance but still wanted the lemongrass and rosemary of the 4-legger. Don't be afraid to combine shampoos or use different shampoos on different parts of the dog!You definitely don't want to get it in the eyes, so I suggest applying a small amount to a washcloth for the face. For dogs with flat-faces and long hair near the eyes, use a small toothbrush to apply near eyes and rinse carefully with a water bottle. I also make a foam out of my face shampoos to further dilute them using a foamer bottle (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01IO3406O/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1).As with all shampoos, I always follow with a conditioner to seal the cuticle. If you want to stick with organic, I love Richard's Organics (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002CZNCAQ/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1), though last night I finished with Soos Ultra Creme dead sea mineral conditioner. Both my dogs are now soft, shiny, and smell fantastic.
