Anyone have any proof these are genuine? The tips seem a tiny bit messy to me.

Hi there. There is no way of telling from the packaging, and I agree, they are a little messy around the edges. The Jim Dunlop USA Nylon, are the same. However, these do seem to be a good pick, and the max grip function seems to work better than most, and for that reason, they are my go-to pick. My solution is, that I keep multiple grades of wet and dry papers from P400 to P1200 in my case of guitar parts, and I use it to remove and shape the edges and tips, so all the excess material is removed. I love these and use them daily. Hope this helps.

Which size is equivalent to regular 'medium' picks?

I wouldn't use terms like medium or light or heavy best to check the thickness of the pick. Also bear in mind some materials are "snappier" than others

0.60 or 0.73 for acoustic guitar playing chords nothing less or more. Electric guitar or any solo playing needs a bit firmer like 1.0 mm because you don't want to miss hitting the note. These guitar picks are usually good for acoustic guitars only and they are the best because they don't slip from your fingers.

Hi there. The Max Grip doesn't come as a thumb pick style, but Jim Dunlop do many types of thumb pick and in what they call a " Medium " style, but there is no data on thickness, so I don't know if these would be suitable. I did try thumb picks but couldn't get on with them, so I went over to this style, and I have to say, that the roughness of the dimples on both sides of the pick are extremely good for pick control. My only suggestions would be to either try the medium thumb picks, at a music store if you can, or modify your current thumb picks using different grades of wet and dry abrasive papers to get the required thickness you want. I use this method to modify my picks and remove the rough edges, and works very well. Also check out the Jim Dunlop website, as you may also find an alternative that Amazon may stock.
