Excellent gritty texture, perfect for repotting mature cacti
I bought this bag of Cactus focus to repot several of my cacti, including a very old, large columnar cactus and some smaller potted varieties. The quality of this mix is outstanding. Unlike cheap multi-purpose soils that hold onto far too much moisture, this blend is specifically formulated with the right balance of sand and grit. It drains incredibly fast, which is absolutely vital for preventing root rot in desert plants, it’s lightweight, free-flowing and doesn’t compact tightly down in the pots after watering. The 8 litre bag was the perfect amount to refresh the soil for multiple plants of various sizes. My cacti have settled into their new pots perfectly. PROS: • Highly porous, free-draining formula. • Good amount of grit and sand mixed throughout. • No issues with compaction or water retention. CONS: • NONE Highly recommend if you want a reliable, ready to use mix that keeps cactus roots healthy and dry.

good?
seems pretty good, nice texture, see how well plants do in it did try mixing up some myself with gravel and compost but think something wrong with compost as have lost plants in it before, things that are usually quite tough and latest planting isn't looking too good, wish me luck!

Cactus & Succulent plants love it
I've always used this 'soil' for my succulents & cactus plants. Though I find it needs to have some pea gravel added to aid drainage.

Sponge
Right when I got the soil, realised its not for cacti and succs, I knew all my succulents would rot, if I went close to them with anything resembling water, if I stuck them in this soil. I added tons of perlite and stuck aloe vera pups in this after "moistening" it a bit. It was great, lots of new root growth within couple weeks. Once the soil was dry, I added a few drops of water. So far have lost 5 pups to rot, but it's okay, I got 20. :D The soil holds on to water like a sponge, so the new plan is to keep all the succulents in dry soil til summer. Will update if and when the rest of the pups die :)

A compléter
Comme souvent, c'est un mélange qu'il faut compléter avec du sable grossier pour mieux aérer le substrat, sinon il est trop organique pour la plupart des cactus.
