Genuine - Dixon Ticonderoga Cedar Artist Pencil, No.2, 12 pack

Like many others in the UK, I was inspired to try these pencils by Roald Dahl. He would write with nothing else, and had them sent from America. I'll admit that buying the pencils was partly curiosity (are they really that good?) and partly a prop to build a mindset that helps me focus on quality written work. So what are they like as pencils? I write with pencils a lot these days. I like the feel and the simplicity. And I've realised that there are big differences in quality. My everyday pencils are Staedtler Noris, which are great and hugely superior to the generic no-name varieties in terms of smoothness and longevity. The Ticonderoga pencils write more smoothly than the Noris. There isn't an enormous difference, but the Ticonderogas flow across the page beautifully with no hint of scratchiness. There is something satisfying about writing on decent paper with these pencils. They last a reasonable time before needing sharpening, and the lead shows no tendency for breaking. I'd recommend them. They are a high quality pencil, and while I'm no Roald Dahl, when I pick one up it does help me get into the creative writing mindset.

I bought these pencils after a trip to Disneyland Paris, and a number of sessions in the Animation Academy. Allegedly the best pencil in the world, I find them hard to fault. I like how erasable lines are but a little prone to smudging. Not disappointed with either the pencil, price for quantity or the puffery- probably the best drawing pencils I own

The Lone-Star reviewer had clearly got some cloned rubbish from - ahem - the Far East and most probably from a different supplier. My box of Dixon Ticonderogas from this supplier arrived the day after ordering via Prime and I subjected each pencil to scrutiny and test. Every one was perfect; the wood was clearly cedar, and a microscopic examination (x80) of the graphite revealed no fissures, defects, bits of grit or any other sort of detritus and each pencil wrote/drew smoothly. So, as usual for this product (if you don't buy it from some dodgy supplier) I give it five stars. Caveat Emptor indeed - careful from whom you buy! There are a couple of UK suppliers out there who sell 'Ticonderogas' cheaper than they cost in America where they're manufactured. Read my mind.

To claim that these are ‘The World’s Best Pencils’ is rather disingenuous! I can think of a dozen pencil brands that make a better pencil than this. Blackwing, Faber-Castell, Steadler, Tombow, Mitsubishi-Uni to name but a few. The Ticonderoga pencils are longer than some, have some fancy foiled lettering and the eraser works ok but they are not all centred correctly and the lack of other lead grades is disappointing.

I initially purchased these as I heard that they were what Roald Dahl used to use for his writing, and I have to say I was not disappointed. They are attractive to look at, in a lovely shade of yellow with green writing, and they sharpened with ease. When used for writing, they were delightfully smooth, and the lead felt reassuringly strong, which is not the case with a lot of pencils I have used in the past. The smooth nature of the Ticonderoga was perfect for my son who is learning cursive writing at school as the pencil glides across the paper. Whenever I pick up another pencil, it doesn't quite match up to the Ticonderoga, I will continue to chose this brand over others in the future.

Bought these for woodwork expecting the best pencils in the world but it turns out they're less reliable than a kid's rainbow unicorn pencil I found lying around. It doesn't matter what type of sharpener I use, the lead breaks into little bits. If it does sharpen, the point barely holds. I've got one of those really nice staedtler dustbin sharpeners as well. I've been through four pencils hoping one of them might be the sort of quality I was expecting, but unfortunately, they're worse than pretty much any pencil you could find.

I have used these lovely yellow pencils ever since I bought one at the Roald Dahl museum. (I think he wrote with them.) They are satisfying to write with with a leads that provide a good width line and colour. The rubber on the end is useful. Highly recommended.

Matite americane storiche, presenti in molteplici film, spesso abbinate al legal pad (blocco giallo a righe). Estetica: fusto giallo chiaro con scritte stampate a pressione in un bellissimo verde smeraldo, stesso colore del cappuccio metallico porta-gomma. Leggermente profumate. Lunghe 19 cm, ancora da temperare. Sulla scrivania fanno la loro figura. Funzionalità: molto leggere, sono HB abbastanza morbide ma leggermente meno fluide di una matita giapponese. Mina resistente, gomma non lascia residui. Non siamo al top di gamma ma il rapporto qualità-prezzo è ottimo, da avere.

Premier crayon utilisé et taillé jusqu'au bout car la mine est en morceaux... a voir pour les autres crayons... tous les autres ont la mine en morceaux. Je ne les recommande pas

Schreibt schön, sieht auf dem Arbeitsplatz sehr ergonomisch aus.

Me los sirvieron muy rápido y sin gastos de envío pese a ser un producto importado de los USA. El lápiz "yanki" por antonomasia. Un producto excelente a pesar de lo barato que es, de buena manofactura y con una mina resistente.

Os lápis são ótimos, material excelente, entrega rápida, vale muito a pena. 👏🏼🥰
