Manrose CF100T Centrifugal Bathroom / Toilet Extractor Fan with Timer for 100mm/4" Ducting

Excellent extractor fan - my previous fan was a cheap axial fan from a local trade merchant which didn't really work that well and was noisy/rattley. This one is the same size as that axial fan but sits far further from the wall (approximately 4 cm or so). It is much more effective however, it has a different sound (more of a 'whoosh') but it's not too loud and you can see it pulling the air through far better than before. These centrifugal fans have much more 'push' than an axial fan and are particularly well suited if extracting along ducting or against any kind of resistance. This fan clears our bathroom so much quicker than before and was easy to install so highly recommended!

The noise takes a little getting used to. It's not the dull whir of the conventional fan extractors but more a high pitched whine you get from a hoover or jet engine but at a lower decibel. I did notice it to start with but now I hardly notice it at all compared to my older and much more distracting fan. The power is also pretty impressive too. Damp in my bathroom has been an issue and this things sucks out the air in the room at an impressive rate and at a power that allows it to fling out the moist air along a long vent to the outside wall (around 15"). The installation is pretty straight forward, although I found the front guard distorted rather easily and required a bit more finessing with the screws than a more solid guard would have provided but a very minor niggle for a good quality vent at a solid price.

I bought this to replace a simpler Manrose fan that has died after a good number of years of service. The connections are identical so fundamentally it was not hard to install. There were some fiddly steps but that had more to do with it being fitted to the ceiling other than the wall, and more so the location of the power supply cable in my ceiling. Some modding to allow the power cable to be threaded through was required but it went in in the end. It is quiet enough for me and I am happy with it.

Bit noisy

Bought and installed the Manrose CF100T centrifugal fan in September 2015. Easy to install and worked well. Unfortunately, it failed in May 2018. It's taking ages and ages to start up (10 - 15 minutes) and the timer off facility has totally ceased. Done all the DIY maintenance things to see if I can breathe life back into it, but to no avail. Reading forums on line about the 'symptoms' and it appears the 'patient' is in its death throws! No, problem, I actually think it's quite a good product (despite it not lasting that long) and I'm going to replace it with another Manrose fan. This time though, I'm going for a Manrose 'Gold' fan because, according to the Manrose.com website, the 'Gold' range of fans have a 5 year "no quibble" guarantee. Having said all that, if you particularly want a centrifugal fan don't let this review put you off. If I could have given it 3 1/2 stars I would have. Its a good fan, I just got one that didn't last long... luck of the draw ;-)

Good product, good value

Replaced a Manrose quiet/slim fan and the difference is night and day. It is definitely noisier - a lower pitched hum - but it really extracts a lot more moisture from our en-suite (via ceiling mount and a somewhat twisted ducting pipe). The product is also very deep and sticks out from the ceiling a fair distance. One thing to note is the mounting points are not in the same place as the Manrose quiet fan, just in case like me you were hoping for a swap-in/out. Very happy with it's performance though, massive difference!

Estuve buscando uno que se pudiera adaptar a las tuberías que tenía y el espacio que tenía. Lo de silencioso no os lo creáis es un boing 747. de día se disimula pero de noche demasiado ruido.

Si vous voulez que cet extracteur fonctionne,ne perdez pas de temps. Inutile de le connecter à la carte mère, il ne se passera rien. Faites plutôt un branchement en direct et là il se mettra en route. Je vous le concède, il devient alors un extracteur simple et non plus à minuterie, la carte mère étant obsolète. Inutile aussi de vous plaindre auprès d'Amazon, ils ne feront aucun geste commercial par rapport à ce désagrément, vous aurez juste le droit d'aller perdre votre temps à la poste pour le renvoyer. A déconseiller de toute urgence.

The ventilator is of cheap build quality and is IP 22 , so not to be used in a batchroom!! I sent it back

Avrei messo 5 stelle ma il timer non funziona, non le ho date indietro (comprate due) perché il timer non mi serviva e ho collegato direttamente la corrente alla ventolina interna. Forse se si fosse aggiunto nella scatola le istruzioni in italiano non avrei collegato erroneamente i fili al timer.

It works just fine, I'm totally satisfied with it. Easy to install and totally reliable, highly recommended. A very good product.
