The zip is a little temperamental and needs patience, I can imagine it being easy to rip the fabric or damage the zip with heavy use. The jacket has air vents and eyelets but is not a breathable fabric. If caught out in the rain this would perform reasonably well. The zip unravelled away from material after only a couple of uses. I don't think the coat is rotten but the material is rather like plastic and is probably a nightmare to sew.
