(I’m not claiming this is the most scientifically accurate information). Apparently, it’s not dangerous to microwave metal as long as there are no jagged edges. But it won’t heat your food very well because basically all the energy get absorbed into the metal and not your food. It won’t hurt anything. It just won’t be an efficient way to heat things. Which is a bummer because I kind of need it to carry meals I want to microwave sometimes and now I’ll have to have something separate to make that happen. That’s okay.
