The main lid is not properly sealed airtight, seal it with a replaceable rubber seal - the multi-fin type. 4. The main lid is not clamped shut, add a flush metal catch to shut it & even lock it. 5. The nice metal casing looks flash (Pro ??) but dents easily (Con ??) and will tarnish at some point, could this be done in a plastic instead? 6. Could you make one with sturdy, detachable levelling legs/feet (about 3 inches tall would do) - screw up in. This provides the clearance for aircirculation - I bought a small low table to stand it on - unlevelled - when full it collapsed. Not tried on 12v or gas yet. Review: Brilliant Cooler! - This cooler is brilliant. If I had realized how good I would have bought one a long time ago instead of these plug in cool boxes that don't really work that well. This is a small size fridge freezer. It will easily go down to -15C if you feel you want to. The three way power is excellent working very well in each mode. You need to be aware that the unit does draw 7-8 amps on twelve volts, however the thermostat ensures that it is not drawing that all the time, so the plug does not heat up. The one on my ordinary cooler draws 2-3 amps but is on all the time and so gets hot if used for an extended period. The unit is large but surprisingly not as heavy as it looks. It appears robustly made. We use it for travel to and from our caravan, and at home it is plugged in 240 volt all the time, drawing 0.35 amps when the thermostat clicks in. The RC2200 has a thermostatic control so it will switch off when the correct internal temperature is reached, the average current taken from the RC2200 will depend on this setting and the ambient outside temperature. I purchased one of these to use while camping and found it worked perfectly well in the car with the engine running in the 10 ampere 12 volt socket. I unplugged it when we stopped but the well insulated cabinet kept things cool for these short stops. At the camp site we always used a 230 volt ac mains hook-up or if this wasn't available we would have used the gas connection. A very versatile piece of equipment. **Q: What gas does this run on and does prime sell them?** A: Butane gas in a bottle seems to work well. Also runs ok from a mains supply. **Q: Which is coldest setting is it 1 or 7 ? Thanks** A: 7 or full clock wise but when on battery its full on when on gas 1 to 7 with 1 the warmest so 7 is cold hope that helps **Q: Can you run this in a tent without worrying about the carbon monoxide? Or is it only designed for use in an awning?** A: You have to plug into mains or run off gas to get it down to a low temperature. Once it is 12v works fine for shot times. Best to use it on Gas if camping for more than a day. We kept ours in the corner of an 8mtr the awning, with good air flow from under the caravan and side panel was opened slightly. The gas bottle was housed in the front compartment of the caravan with a long gas hose to the fridge. Sometimes the fridge worked to well this way, because it's got a coolant unit where ice cube tray sits, keep food and drink away from that or it will freeze your items. I was so impressed I bought a second for my step son. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Fantastic camping fridge *by L***N on 17 November 2016* I camp a lot, and with a 3 week trip through Europe coming up I decided that I wanted to upgrade on my electric cool box. This fridge opens at the top, but it is a proper fridge rather than a cool box, in fact it's so efficient that if you set it too cold it will freeze your drinks! You can use it plugged into the mains, or a car socket or with a gas bottle. I have used it all 3 ways and it's worked like a dream. Yes you have to be careful to keep it level when using it with gas, bit I haven't had any problems. Since we've been home from our trip this fridge has seen regular use as a beer fridge for parties, a travel fridge in the car for long trips and for various family members who have borrowed it.
