Mr. Peabody and Sherman

I've not met anyone who doesn't like Peabody and Sherman. Such a good family film. Teaches children to be kind and accept all. A great film for all ages. Our family ranges from 7 - 74 years old and everyone (8 people) loves it. We have watched it many times.

Good film for family movie night.

I watched this film with a nine year old, a three year old and a four year old. All four of us laughed (although the bits I laughed at they didn't 'get'). It is just a great fun adventure that you can watch again and again

Excellent movie in 3d

A super intelligent mutt adopts a boy & introduces him to time travel! Daft as a brush but with a warm heart and some funny lines, ( quite a few that only adults will get) and a simple but effective storyline. The boy, Sherman, has an unfortunate first day at school where bullying leads him to bite another pupil. The social services get involved and Mr.Peabody tries to solve everything by getting the bitten girl & her parents round for tea. It all goes downhill from there but it's all just an excuse to go hopping into Mr.Peabody's time machine and exploring all sorts of different era's. Needless to say it all ends well and will keep the ankle biters and their parents happy enough. The blu-ray comes with an ultraviolet copy & a few extras including P&S beginnings in Rocky & Bullwinkle. & quite a few other mini featurettes. Nothing outstanding but nice to have them. The picture is 16:9 letterbox 1.85:1 and it has to be said pretty sharp. I guess you'd expect that from digital animation and also the excellent colour & definition. A small downside is that dark scenes can be a little grey and murky at times instead of all out black and shadowing a little hazy. Not the end of the universe but not quite top notch either. The sound is a much appreciated DTS-HD Master 7.1 so with the subject matter you'd expect all sorts of fireworks. Not so though. This is easily the most subdued 7.1 I've heard and both the sub & the rears are given very little work to do. A bit of a disappointment considering the many opportunities for some real wraparound pyrotechnics. The sound is not bad but a real trick has been missed here. The vocals are excellent and nailed right into the centre speaker but little else stands out. I understand this is really for children but it's the surround kit owning parents paying for this and I suspect some are going to be disappointed by the lack of oomph per buck being offered here. Another niggle is the rather lame soundtrack. For children this is good stuff, likeable characters & a fast, funny storyline that'll keep them entertained. For adult animation lovers theres some humour too and nicely animated scenes. so as a film this is fine but as a blu-ray it is somewhat underwhelming and the sound and picture could have done with a little more polish.

I suggest every parent to buy this dvd for their kids as it show the bond between a dog and a boy,good movie to watch but i received defective dvd.

loved the movie ... very good animation and very good 3D effect if u have 3D Tv which can convert 2D to 3D & more than 400Hz motion @ 1080p the box is very good and sturdy .
