Clean ingredients
We were looking for a good quality clean body wash and after searching we found this one. I scanned this on my yuka app and it showed me that it was really good quality. The body wash is very thin and doesn't suds up to much but it does the job. I like the lavender scent but most importantly I love the fact that its safe and clean for my whole family.

Excellent for dry skin!
If you’re looking for a body and hair wash that’s made fur dry eczema prone skin. This is it! I’ve been using this brand for 8 years now and I’ll never use another one. My dry winter skin problems have disappeared using this soap. Various scents snd unscented for you to select from too. I wish they sold a gallon refill though. The excessive pump is unnecessary every time I buy a new bottle.

The unscented one is the best body wash ever for sensitive skin! A life ( skin ) saver!
The unscented one is a life, I mean - skin! saver for me! My skin doesn't do good with the water where we live. I don't know what chemicals they put in it, but it is way too harsh for my skin. Plus, I am sick of all body washes full of god knows what kind of unnecessary, even toxic, crap. I wanted something cleaner, gentle, and safer for me, and the environment, too. I already love many other Alaffia products, and I admire them for what they do and stand for. So, it was a no brainer to give this stuff a try. And, I am very happy I did. Love it! It is so good to my skin without being harsh one bit. It cleans well, and it is so gentle. My skin is also dry, and this doesn't dry it out even more. It leathers nicely, especially if used with a mesh. But I prefer to just use it with my hands most of the time as I sooo like the feel of it gliding against my skin! Feels soooo good! Granted, I use more this way, but I don't even care. It is so worth it. Also, It was the only thing I could use last time I had one of my skin rashes, without making them worse. So, yes! I can't live without this. I've been using this for years, and if they don't change it for worse, I will continue using it. It is such a great body wash, and you can't beat the price!

A Modern Mans Body Wash
Here’s how I came upon Alaffia. Honestly, it was the distinctive graphic design on the bottle. Then the sale price at Whole Foods in a big bottle of shampoo. Bought the 32oz bottle of coconut shampoo at Whole Foods. Didn’t work out for my hair and wasn’t too hot on the fragrance. Instead of tossing the bottle, I started using the remaining shampoo as a body wash. I started to notice some big differences in my skin within a few days...no more dry skin, dry feet, or body breakouts from acne. All of this a big deal since I have very sensitive and reactive skin.Decided to buy the lavender body wash to try. I bought the kids lemon/lavender 16oz bottle and used the entire thing up. I LOVED IT. Ultra moisturizing, clears up body acne, and smells great. No lingering fragrance on the skin but makes your bathroom smell like a natural spa or a Aveda salon. Also, fights and neutralizes the funk. We have three men in our house from 17 years old to 52 years old, so we know funk. I feel good knowing that my 17 year old is using a product that naturally treats his teenage funk. But the big shocker to me with the body wash was this...the main ingredient is Neem. If Neem is new to you, do some research on it. I learned all about it from a botanical tour years ago at ECHO in Fort Myers, Florida. I actually bought three Neems plants from their plant nursery after the tour because I was so astounded with the power of the plant; used all over the world, and used especially in developing/third world countries for medicinal purposes where medical care is slim to none.I could go on and on... instead do some light internet research in your own if you’re on the fence with this. You’ll be amazed what Neem can do and even more amazed that you have a 16oz/32oz (depending on the size you buy) bottle of it for a little over $10.(In my opinion, The quality of the main ingredient and the price are reason enough to buy...hands down. Check out other neem based products being sold at Whole Foods and you’ll find they are all triple or quadruple the cost.)Second reason to believe & buy: the company, what they stand for, fair trade, and the empowerment of women. Supporting rural African communities and made by those communities under strict ethical stands for quality of living and wage.I feel good knowing that I’m using a “clean” (purity of ingredients) product that is produced ethically and which supports its workforceBuy it. Try it. You’ll buy it again.

Smells heavenly and doesn’t dry my skin out
One of my favorite bodywashes. Doesn’t dry my skin out, thick and luxurious, and I love that it has great ingredients. The smell is amazing and it leaves me feeling clean!

My skin feels even more dry after this. Super watery. Seems like a waste.
I was so excited to get this and really wanted to love it. I don’t understand how it’s for very dry skin as my skin feels more dry after using. Also the texture is like they added a bit of soap to a LOT of water. I mean just imagine putting water in a bottle and squirting it out of the pump- it’s that bad. I also didn’t see neem in the ingredients. I looked further into the soap and it seems 1. They’ve changed their formula- Neem used to be the first ingredient, now it’s water. 2. There’s a scientific name for a leaf that may or may not be the part of neem that is effective (that appears to have changed too). 3. It’s also made in the u.s. with “globally sourced ingredients” (a bit vague). I’m wondering if the African soap part is just a gimmick. I went back to read the reviews and wish I had listened. I found this a waste of money considering the questionable claims, changed ingredients, bad reviews, dryness of my skin and the cost to benefit ratio. Also the package arrived late and either opened I transit or was tampered with. It was wrapped in a plastic bag that looked like a half hearted attempt to contain spillage. I really wish this was all I expected. Unfortunately it really missed the mark for me and I won’t be purchasing again.
