Review: A good studio workhorse - Having just invested in a small, very simple, home studio set up - for when I don't want to go to my recording proper studio, unlock it and turn it all on - so I can do simple bits of recording; musical sketches and odds and sods, I wanted a cheap, closed-back pair of headphones, that don't leak sound. This is especially important with click tracks, which can ruin the recording of a quiet acoustic instrument, such as a guitar, with their tick-tick-tick being quite audible on the recording. I didn't want to pay a lot, and these are perfect. AKG headphones are generally superb, I have been using a high-end pair for mastering in my studio for the past 15 years or so, so bought these with confidence. Comfortable, minimal-to-no sound leaking, pretty decent sound stage and over all sound, perfectly good enough to wear when tracking a second guitar or other acoustic instrument, or when doing a vocal. Would I use them to listen to music with? Well, I will have to answer that in a few months when they have 'run in' by being used. Certainly they are not bad in all honesty; i have heard much, much worse, and at this price they are pretty damn good. I had another pair of headphones arrive today at approaching 3 times the price and they were awful, so bad in fact I have returned them.. i wont be returning these. Maybe the sound is a little muddy over all, a little lacking in sparkle, but the sound stage is pretty wide and airy, I would say the lower mid is a bit dominant, and the lower high is a bit lacking, but that's with only playing music on them for about 30 minutes; like I said, let me give it a few months for them to settle in. But so far, for the money, I'm delighted, and for the use I want to put to put them too they are idea.
Review: Great value for money - Super comfortable and lightweight - I know because I have returned +70GBP headphones because they were squeezing my head. Sound quality a lot better than logitech g332. They don't cancel noise though but it actually works for me. Great value for money.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Do theee block any external noise....aka noisy git neighbours. ..? Thnx**
A: I had noisy neighbours, untill I bought these. I wore them as I 'took care of my noise problem' and as they drowned out all but the worst screams and protestations throughout I feel they really helped. I now have no neighboirs, as I'm in solitary on the east wing, but these bad boys still keep me company, so yes, they're great.

**Q: Do ears get hot while wearing them?**
A: I found that my ears are a bit sweaty after removing them after wearing a little while .

**Q: Do they have a good low frequency response? I want some headphones to mix low and high frequencies with no problem. Let me know**
A: Hi, I find them very good, the human hearing range for the majority of people is 20 > 20000 Hz. the AKG K92 range is 16 > 20000 Hz. I listened to many different makes prior to buying the AKG K92, to me some of the £500 models did not sound as good, a few sounded slightly different, but no better, what I can say, is that for the money, the AKG K92 were the best value for the money. They feel well made, have a very long cable and look okay, I would recommend them to anyone, especially at £38.Good luck with whatever you choose.

**Q: is the jack straight or L shaped?**
A: It is a straight jack.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A good studio workhorse

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Well worth considering at this price point
*by L***G on 12 September 2020*

I am not a great fan of headphones. Having experienced the joy of music played through the speakers of a top range audio system, they will always be a compromise unless you are willing to pay a small fortune. Then you have the persistent, subtle, intrusion induced by the headband or pressure on your ears, and always having to be conscious of the fact you are physically wired into a headphone socket. Bluetooth earphones may offer you more freedom, but at the price of sound quality. As for the in ear variety, despite different bud sizes, I cannot get many brands to comfortably stay in my ear when moving about. The best pair I have owned used an ultra-soft silicon bud, but they died a death due to hard work and are no longer made. These are now my fourth pair in my seemingly impossible quest for a comfortable, reasonably sounding, budget set of phones that I will not resent purchasing if the dog chews the lead, the cat decides to use as a surrogate mouse or the 3.5" jack fails. Sound wise, they are perfectly acceptable for the price. Reasonably well balanced, there is neither too much bass nor is the treble too harsh. The sound stage is OK, and like most headphones you are limited to a very restricted breadth with all the attention being left to right and very little front to back which is only to be expected. Overall, AKG have done a good job with the drivers at this price point, not too clinical, not too biased and overall the sound is clean but not in any way artificial or unpleasant. Comfort wise, after a few hours use my ears, as usual, started to hurt. Not as much as some in comparison to other budget phones, but enough to require a break or readjustment. The headband wasn't too physically intrusive, but my ears were definitely starting to sweat a bit. Over time, I suspect the plastic will start flaking from the headphone cups, the final death knell in the life of any headphone being the outbreak of the dreaded black dandruff. The headphone cord, being very long, is both a blessing and a curse. It would have been good if AKG had allowed this to be replaced with a shorter one, which would also solve the problem of the jack plug failing due to being plugged and unplugged so many times, another reason for many headphones bring replaced. I can see this cord getting tangled on something at some point, which may result in a premature death of this piece of kit. All in all, for the money, these aren't a bad set of cans. The inclusion of a headphone jack adapter was a nice touch, as you can use these straight out the box either with a mobile phone or a stereo amplifier. Buying headphones online without trying them out first is always a gamble, but this time around I don't think I've come out too badly.
