Great for Pesto!
A Review of Premier Seeds Direct Genovese Basil I recently snagged a packet of these famed Genovese basil seeds, and here’s the lowdown: 🌱 What You Get 2000 organic seeds harvested from classic Italian sweet basil—just right for pesto dreams. ⏱️ Performance Germination time clocked in at 15-18 days in March (sown in a soon to be banned peat based multipurpose compost) and they were ready to harvest in about 60—quick turnaround for fresh leaves. Flexible growing conditions: full sun or partial shade, makes it forgiving for lazy gardeners like myself. 👍 Pros Value-packed: 200. seeds for the price feels like stealing—seriously, enough basil for a small army. Germination success: Very high, with very light appliaction of water. Organic and eco-conscious: minimal packaging, certified organic—great if you’re eco-aware. 👎 Cons & Caveats A few users reported no growth, but let’s be real—it’s probably human error. Soil, light, water—pick two (or all three). Packaging doesn’t come with instructions, so if you’re a total gardening noob, you might need to Google how deep seeds go (0.15–0.3 cm) and spacing (20–25 cm between plants). 🔍 Summary If you're after affordable, organic Genovese basil and don’t mind doing a tiny bit of homework, this is a cracking buy. Loads of seeds, eco-friendly, and reviews show strong germ success—just be sure you’ve got the basics down: planting depth, light, water. Final verdict? 5 out of 5 leaves. If only they’d thrown in a sachet of pesto seasoning also, this would be perfect.

Basil the Great: Tiny Seeds, Big Flavour
For such tiny little seeds, basil really does punch above its weight. These grew quicker than I expected and filled my kitchen windowsill with that unmistakable fresh fragrance. There’s nothing like pinching off a few leaves and throwing them straight into pasta, salads, or even a cheeky homemade pizza. Germination rates were excellent – almost every seed decided to sprout, and I didn’t feel like I was gambling with dud packs. They’re also forgiving plants; I forgot to water once or twice, and they bounced back as if nothing happened. If you’re new to growing herbs, basil is definitely the friendliest to start with. Flavour-wise, it beats any supermarket plastic pot hands down. Fresh, peppery, slightly sweet – the kind of taste that makes you wonder why you ever bought jarred pesto. This little packet of seeds is basically a passport to Mediterranean cooking at home.
