Clear instructions and diagrams. Interesting range of patterns to make, from simple to more complex. Good fun to get making some new and different lace.

Basic patterns, but some lovely ones too.
For an easy tatting book which one would imagine to be for beginners it has a strangely basic learn to tat page. Otherwise, learn to make motifs which are then repeated in a later section as a small part of a bigger picture - nice idea. And other odds and ends. Large print, clear instructions and diagrams.

This book is so good at explaining the stitches needed for mastering the art of tatting, enjoyed all the patterns too 👍

Very detailed.
As a starter I have found the book very easy to follow and understand.Well put together.Could do with a follow up with more patterns that are a bit more difficult as you go along. Delivered when they said it would. Can not find fault.

So much more than just a pattern book!
I thought I was just getting a starter set of patterns to learn shuttle tatting. What I got was that, organized into an effective beginner's course in shuttle tatting. The instructions and diagrams are clear, and the whole book is organized to teach skills in an order that allows brand new tatters to start creating tiny treasures right away. I started out having never tatted in my life, and I am now writing my own patterns. I have been a fiber artist for over 30 years, and this may be the best beginner's book I've ever seen, in any of the mamy fiber arts I've tried. I can't recommend this highly enough!

once you know how to make the basic double stitch, picots and how to join them, this book is great for beginner with simple patterns and explainations. recommend only for a beginner
