Good box for keeping the electrics dry during 'outdoor lights season'. It's nice and big too, so you can get a fair bit in there (smaller boxes are okay, but getting a socket, a timer, some sort of splitter and then those long transformers all lights seem to have these days into them can be a squeeze - not so with this. One thing I'd say... the lid has two ways to stick down. The first is with the side handles which sort of clip over the top of it, holding it down. The second is some little lugs which clip over the bottom of the rim of the base. Those little lugs are nigh on impossible to fully clip down though. Thankfully, the simpler side handles seem to be more than adequate. Note also there's no way to 'lock' the box, even against an opportunist prankster/family member. All in all though, nice and big, easy to use, very much water proof against the inevitable rain we've had for the last few days.

🔌 I really liked that the rubber plugs that form a seal on either side of the cable are quite soft and easily conform around the cable. I have other outdoor boxes, and the seal is firmer and does not fit well with all cable sizes. This box will have a 16-amp mains cable, a thick, two-core antenna cable, and a Cat 6 network cable. The 16-amp cable is of a particularly thick diameter, and the antenna cable is a figure-eight shape. The soft material conforms reasonably well to these, hopefully keeping out moisture. 🔌 There are five cable entry points, one on the left and four on the right. This arrangement is aimed at a cable entering on the left that connects to a 4-way extension lead that you put inside. Then the cables that are plugged into the extension can all exit the box via their own exit point. Unfortunately, UK extensions all have their cables on the right-hand side, but the cable can always loop around. This must be a universal box that is common to different countries, but it is a tiny bit less accommodating for UK extensions. You can, of course, use it for a variety of other purposes, wherever you need to keep some electronics dry. 🔌 Each cable entry point also comes with a cable retainer that pops in. There are no instructions included for these that I could find, but they are designed to help prevent cables from being pulled out, so have them facing inward as shown in my pictures. 🔌 The edge of the lid has a soft rubber gromet running around the edge so that the lid can seal against the box. The box must be placed level and is not suitable for mounting on its side, as the lid has an overhanging lip that also directs water away from entering. I found that even a 13-amp cable was enough to distort the lid slightly as it was closed over the cables, so time will tell if the box is sufficient to keep the weather at bay. 🔌 The lid is closed by two clamps to the left and right. These are folded inward on delivery, so just pop off the lid and unfold them before use. In a deviation from the product information, there are no cable ties included and no place to use them if there were. My other box has a place for this or a small padlock, making this DriBox a little less secure than I am used to. 🔌 At IP55, the box is more water-resistant than waterproof, but this is similar to other such boxes on the market. Given the way the cables slightly distort the case, I decided that the box was going to live inside a garden storage box for extra protection. It is certainly a large box, and I managed to place a 16-amp plug and socket, a single extension socket, and a SIM router inside without any problem. This is probably the limit, as it is not wise to overload the box to allow for devices inside to be cool. ✔️

Perfect size for an INKBIRD temperature controller. Has a good seal for rain protection in the garden.

Brought for all the Christmas lights, plenty of room for a four plug extension lead and all the plugs/adapters. Really sturdy box with a clip down lid, kept everything dry. Will come in handy for the garden in the summer. Pleased with my purchase.

Quick delivery, fitted my caravan extension lead connectors. Is it robust - not really my kitchen plastic boxes are better, will it last - the hinges are attached to a thin plastic rail that bends when you clip it over the lid and looks as if it could break easily if you remove the lid regularly, does it damage the leads - yes if you insert into the cable clips leaving an 8mm dia cable with grip marks (using clips is optional though, so I found better without). With cables fitted the box didn't tip over that easyWill an IP55 rating satisfy most caravan sites - yes, unless they don't allow multiple lead connection.

used it to house my electrics for my pond pump and filter. We have had some heavy rain and in-between I've checked and so far there as been no ingress of water, so its doing its job perfectly. it seems to be strongly made so should be durable, but only time will tell. good value for money.

Die Box benutze ich für meine Weihnachtsbeleuchtung. Sie ist perfekt von der Größe her für eine Verlängerung mit Netzteilen und Kabelüberlängen. Der Rand des Deckels ist weit nach unten gezogen, damit kein Wasser in die Box eindringen kann. Ich hatte die Box 6 Wochen im ungeschützten Außenbereich und der Innenraum war wirklich trocken trotz Sturms und sehr starkem Regen. Für mich eine klare Kaufempfehlung!

The seal compound at the cable entry/exit points is amazingly squishy :) :( I accidentally discarded the cable retention bits so it's a little fiddly to close while keeping the cables centered in the seal area... don't throw them out!

Das ist bereits meine zweite Box. Zwischendurch habe ich andere Modelle ausprobiert, aber keine war so geräumig wie diese. Sie bietet genug Platz für eine größere Steckerleiste und sogar für mehrere klobige Stecker. Die Box ist absolut wasserdicht – beide stehen bei mir komplett ungeschützt draußen und funktionieren trotzdem seit langem völlig zuverlässig. Wenn ich wieder eine brauche, dann definitiv erneut dieses Modell.
